The issue is that Arsenal players have been fouling the opposition keeper during corners/free kicks all season and no arsenal goal was disallowed because of it. But every goal against Arsenal where a foul may or may not have occurred is disallowed!

@Mr_BA6 Oh man. It’s got ‘nothing’ to do with the first, second third or 10th foul. The most consequential foul from a corner takes precedence. If you want to stake claim to first foul, Soucek fouled Havertz.

That VAR audio is criminal. Firstly you can hear them saying “is that enough contact” then they agree there are fouls from Trossard on Pablo and Rice on Mavropanos but show the ref the wrong angle who tells them to hurry up. The ref was absolutely desperate to disallow. Criminal

With White out for the season, and Timber not sure to return soon, Arteta has Mosquera as the next option. He can cope against Premier League clubs. Where he may likely struggle is in the final of the UCL against PSG. The decision against West Ham shows Arteta still doesn’t totally trust him in that role. PSG will be a different kettle of fish and will test Arsenal in that position. It’s going to be a testing decision to make.

@terryflewers Why are we only sticking to "grabbing the arm" as the argument here? Arsenal have been bullying goalkeepers ALL season. Pushing and pulling them BEFORE the corners, putting them off balance or intentionally blocking them. All of which should be given as fouls.

@IanDarke @RefereeHalsey If refs start implementing the first foul they see, then you'll start to see a reduction in holding, grappling etc. They have to be stronger and start somewhere. We dont need rules changes, rules are just not being implemented by referees who know they also have VAR to support

@RefereeHalsey But there are often 3 or 4 fouls going on. Refs have to decide which was first. . Impossible. Agree on penalising offences , but we’d end up with 4 penalties every game and everyone would say ‘ farcical’. Can’t carry on as it is , Mark.

Darren Cann is right. Time now for a new law stopping any attacking player in the six yard box at corners until the ball is in play. The skirmishing has stained this Premier League season.
