@bbcquestiontime We ought to be amazed that the BBC is selectively promoting “Reform” party propaganda. It isn’t GB News and should not behave like it.

A devastating indictment of Ofcom, the media regulator, which has let GB News to pump out Reform party propaganda and drive a coach and horses through the UK broadcasting laws. @arusbridger and I will be discussing this on @mediaconfpod shortly !
alan rusbridger@arusbridger

Here's the programme-by-programme dossier in which the @TheNewWorldmag reviewers tracked the breaches of broadcasting codes which @Ofcom seems happy to ignore thenewworld.co.uk/the-gb-news-sc…

Magnificent article & investigation by Alan Rusbridger on how the utterly useless Ofcom allowed one of its regulated TV channels, GBNews, to be taken over by a political party.
Peter Oborne@OborneTweets

A massively consequential investigation by Alan Rusbridger into GB News: how "one political party in Britain has effectively ended up with its own television station". Raises deep questions about hi-jacking of British media/political culture: thenewworld.co.uk/alan-rusbridge…

I genuinely do not believe that AI can make me a better writer. Not in the drafting, not in the editing, not in the conceiving or brainstorming, none of it. I crave human reviewers and editors. I embrace the virtue of doing things "inefficiently."

GB News has turned into the Reform channel. After a New World investigation found hundreds of breaches of the rules on accuracy and impartiality, Ofcom has failed to do its job and act. We've seen what Fox News has done to politics in the US. We can't let it happen here.

"Farage defends Richard Tice’s tax avoidance scheme and says ‘no one pays more tax than they have to’". But there is a big difference between that and taking every chance you can to avoid paying your fair share to fund the NHS, pensions, defence, policing and human decency.

Shocking interview by Nick Robinson on Today just now. Every question began, effectively, “but wouldn’t a Trump supporter say?” That is not serious interviewing.

Not that it matters much but the best thing Jessie Buckley has ever done - because the hardest - was as Princess Marie Bolkonsky in the last BBC version (altogether not that great except for her and Paul Dano) of War and Peace - the part is almost impossible to play and she was. so convincing and moving
