One way out of these fuel protests is to have legal amendments and use part of the idle and unpopular housing levy on incidental budget lines-urban roads,sanitation,water, then pass a supplementary budget and reallocate 50B from Roads/Water/sanitation for fuel subsidy. A win-win.

At a bar this weekend, I spoke with a random person in their young 30s. She mentioned that she and her sister-in-law have political disagreements. I asked her which subject in particular. She said: Israel-Palestine. So, I asked which side she stands on. She said she was opposed to Israel genociding Palestinians. Trying not to give away my position, I asked: What makes you say that? She said it was Israel killing 200,000 Palestinian children. I told her that was interesting because Hamas's death toll, which includes fighters, sits at around 70,000. At that point, she made it clear that she wasn't interested in changing her opinion. We have a propaganda and misinformation problem. It seems that many people have developed strong opinions based on lies. But perhaps correct information could help dispel the lies. Though, I suspect the truth doesn't matter as much as the narrative.

Here's a challenge no pro-Palestinian can answer: Name one Jewish village that Jews stole from Arabs — before the Arabs launched their war to destroy the Jewish community in 1948. Think about that. Pro-Palestinians accuse Jews of stealing land, yet they cannot name a single Jewish village built on stolen land. Not one. Everything the Arabs lost, they lost in a war they started. And by the way — I can give you plenty of examples of places Arabs took from Jews before 1948. I'm attaching one photo: Hebron, 1929.

Not only has Israel no right whatsoever to order people out of their homes, as the ICJ said evacuation orders can themselves be genocidal. Yet our media report it with no qualification, no mention of their illegality, as if it’s just normal, like they’re reporting the weather.

Can anyone explain to me why Israel and only Israel is able to order people from another country to evacuate their home? Anyone? Israel has issued an evacuation order for Tyre, Lebanon, displacing 200,000 more people. Tyre is an ancient Phoenician city with Roman ruins and a hippodrome.
