People like to dunk on Kentucky's $22 million roster, and for good reason. But let's remember this team's two best players basically never played. The only time they were on the court together was when they came back to beat St. John's. Hard to overcome!

1. Kentucky has a real shot at a No. 6 seed on Selection Sunday. 2. Almost seems certain that Kentucky won’t play on Wednesday at the SEC Tournament. 3. UK would have a very real double-bye shot if Alabama beats Tennessee tonight. Might not even need a Florida win to get it.

@DanWolken I get what you're saying and I'm not directing the criticism at you, but it's pretty lame to constantly hear Kentucky fans get blamed or lectured when the on-the-court product has been legitimately poor for a sustained number of years.

@DanWolken I hear you but is it also Kentucky fans' fault when cbb media push lazy, contrived narratives? Cal was too hardheaded to even remotely change, and Mitch Barnhart rush-hired - and has since tied up millions of dollars on - a guy with zero proven track record of high level success.

If Pope doesn’t work out the Kentucky fan base is going to catch hell for years but the reality is Calipari needed a change. Let’s not rewrite history. It was stale and he was becoming miserable. He has been better and more fun at Arkansas.

Florida is now 5-4, just like Kentucky is. They have an almost identical resume as Kentucky, but they also have a loss to a TCU team who has lost to New Orleans and Notre Dame. Why aren’t we talking about Florida the same way that we are talking about Kentucky? #BBN

This is an especially tough spot for a coach who still has so much to prove. It was bad for Cal because the struggles lasted for a while but at least you knew he was a Hall of Fame coach. Pope's gonna have to claw his way through this second half and maybe the whole season.

@RoushKSR Game was lost on 2nd & 8 from the 47. Decided to throw the ball there (& again on 3rd down). UK averaged 3.8 yds/carry. You have an absolutely atrocious quarterback. Make the decision that you're taking 4 downs to get 10 yds running the ball. Needed 15 more yds to get to fg range

Here is something nobody wants to hear:
Kentucky was never getting 9 yards on 4th and 8. There was a 5% chance at best.
UK lost because Georgia is Georgia and to beat a team that good you need a few lucky breaks. Instead, they had 3 forced fumbles and an overturned pick 6.
