I vividly remember as a HS kid in the late 90s walking down Wisconsin Ave running into Jesse Jackson on the street (IIRC the Rainbow Coalition was down by The Bayou box office) and being starstruck in way that I've never been by a mere politician.

We're seeing next door what happens when a gov with national aspirations looking to curate a particular profile has to contend with fired up legislative leaders. Trying to pull off the same act in one of the bluest states in the country is a recipe for trouble.

Regrets: Harris now clearly leads Trump in a 2024 redo. Big implications for 2026: Dems for Congress are holding onto Harris voters more than the GOP is holding onto Trump voters. Further: non-2024 voters are heavily favoring Dems. Puts not just the House, but Senate in-play.

@hoyatalk I don't think it's a D or R issue--it's exceedingly rare because losers very rarely run again, and when they do there are typically unique circumstances. And these are certainly unique circumstances.
