@7700saint A finisher isn't a real thing. Wrestling's fake. A finisher is just a storytellng tool and the story tonight was that both men were willing to die and usual measures weren't enough. You don't have to spend your time while watching a match worrying about the sanctity of finishers.

Alright, let me actually articulate my thoughts I went into Swerve vs Ospreay kind of worried because I wasn’t a fan of their previous bout due to the overindulgence of the no selling/“woke” spot formula. I found myself really enjoying this match, as I thought despite some flaws during it, they did a really great job at grounding their offense and telling a gritty story. The blade jobs from both men were spectacular, and I think that one of Ospreay’s best matches ever is somewhere within that Main Event. As I was riding that high and thinking to myself that this match really ruled and was a great showcase of how Ospreay evolved his style through his current arc, they proceeded to do roughly 14? finishers in next 5 minutes along with two kickout at 1 spots. Bro, as a few of you may know, I don’t really mind when wrestling rips into that because like Konosuke Takeshita vs Kazuchika Okada, there is a place for it narratively to make sense. It gets to a point though. I actually liked The Death Riders’ involvement with the match and had they ran that angle prior to that I think it would’ve been a home run ending, but ultimately those final 7-10 minutes really took me out of the match. If you enjoyed it, I get it, there’s a cool match in there somewhere but for me personally I was very deflated
