@Toby_Driver1 There’s a thought. I cant decide if those ramparts are more impressive from the ground or the air.

Badbury Rings in Dorset. The image is a composite of dozens of smaller ones taken with a drone and stitched together. #ironage #hillfort #dorset

Castell Bwlch Dinas near Talgarth in the week before lockdown. The ramparts are Iron Age; the lumps and bumps mostly Norman. #HillfortsWednesday

Priddy Circle No1. Mendip Hills Somerset. Recently carbon dated to around 3000 BCE, it’s one of four giant rings carved on land pock-marked by mysterious swallet holes. This one was damaged by the farmer to make way for a motorcycle course. #archeology #sacredsites #Neolithic

@eleeeyeeleh @gawanmac They’re on the Ox-War border, is what I meant. Hey, it was dawn on Christmas Day! I was addled.

@DavidRAbram @gawanmac Gorgeous pic. I love the rollrights - amazing views from the ring and the king stone opposite. But they're in Oxfordshire, and Warwickshire and Somerset don't have a border?

@pittsmike @PrehistoryGuys I’m not on Twitter much (have been posting more on Instagram) and haven’t quite got the hang of it yet but yes, thanks, I picked up a few follows! The subjects shine through. Reminds us of what wonders we’re surrounded by, many hiding in plain sight.

@DavidRAbram @PrehistoryGuys I really liked that portfolio, a lot of thought and effort’s gone into the photos. Tbh I was surprised by how much interest my tweet of your Avebury shot got, I hope some of that came your way!

Excited to discover the lumps on a chalk ridge near my house are a lovely early Neolithic tomb, seemingly unexcavated.
