@AprilPawluk @joeBondyDenomy I imagine the gut bacteria wouldn't come into contact with the blood stream in normal circumstances - but maybe in disorders like inflammation or infection. Could be involved in scavenging sugars from degradation. Glycobiology is cool!

@joeBondyDenomy interesting - I presume that the enzyme doesn’t come into contact with their main circulation often? (hopefully?)

I love science. But what does this mean for people with this microbe in their gut? What blood type are they?

@jwoodgett @girls_can It's sort of in between. But NSERC puts a lot more weight on HQP/trainees so it wouldn't be exactly transferable. It's telling that NSERC has never replaces the F100 with CCV, though.

It is with great sadness that we received the news of the passing Michael G. Rossmann, longtime ACA member, friend and colleague, who died Tuesday, May 14th, in West Lafayette, Indiana. He was 88. Dr. Rossmann will be sadly missed.
