@akidolabs This is an interesting approach to not only expand street medicine programs, but also help clinicians cope with the administrative complexity of CalAIM. Worth keeping an eye on this going forward.

@healthapiguy Thanks for doing this research, Brendan! I have interviewed a few regional HIE leaders recently who said they are in "wait-and-see mode" on TEFCA....

It would be nice to have a similar resource for other EHRs to know the status of TEFCA progress across their customer base but alas

"Who's not joining TEFCA yet?" is a novel thread to pull at. Last year, @HeyEpic announced that it would have all its organizations pledged to TEFCA by the end of 2024 and all of them live by end of 2025. They have a live page that lists the live and pledged organization counts to that extent. They did not hit their announced goal of getting all organizations pledged by the end of 2024. They've had decent progress all summer in their onboarding, it seems (see table tracking progress this summer), but it's clear there are still some holdouts not pledged. Who are they? Luckily for us, certified EHRs have to list their Patient Access Brands, a listing of organizations and endpoints whom they serve. We can cross-reference this against their TEFCA list. Looking at the list, a couple of categories: 1. From the large national and giant health systems perspective: Northwell Health, HCA Healthcare, Ascension, Virtua Health, Montefiore Health System, and Geisinger all pop out 2. Quite a few academics: University of Pennsylvania, UC San Diego, UW Health (in Epic's backyard!), Nebraska Medicine, Rush University System for Health, and more 3. Some brand name research and specialty hospitals: Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center , Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), and children's hospitals like Shriners, Scottish Rite, and Texas Children's 4. Governmental, state, or regional systems like NYC Health + Hospitals, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Santa Clara Valley, County of San Mateo, and the Choctaw Nation 5. There are a bunch of payer-owned, retail services, and dialysis giants like CVS Health, Carelon, Cigna Healthcare, Molina Healthcare, Fresenius Medical Care, and DaVita Kidney Care. I wonder if they'll pledge at all Link to all 108 organizations that matching failed for and the raw data: docsend.com/view/ttq6upv3v… Note: The names didn't match exactly, so I had to add some fuzzy matching. The organizational hierarchies may also be misaligned, so perhaps some of these exist as organizatios in one list and facilities in another (organizational directories are hard like that!) Regardless, apologies for any errors - happy to hand correct anything that slipped through.
