X : How is the Tesla 3? Me : Awesome ... absolutely fricking amazing. And you get that Amazon feeling. X : ? Me : The car is all about the user and their needs rather than profit generation for shareholders / execs.

@waitrose @theJeremyVine Your driver did nothing wrong. The outside rank of cyclists were too close to the white line when they had the oppurtunity to move in further to give themselves greater space.

At London's Foreign Office where we've just become the first nation to pass a law involving a total BAN of ALL ships with ANY Russian connection whatsoever from entering British ports. Please RT to encourage all countries to do the same in support of the people of #Ukraine 🇺🇦

The writeup of last summers energy-climate data hackathon is now online in BAMS journals.ametsoc.org/view/journals/… Still quite amazed how much can be done in a week. (and without the in-person hackathon perks of pizza and beer!!)

@UniofOxford we need to cut down on rubbish cheap meat and accept meat will become more of a delicacy for those that can afford it. You'll have to work out exactly how you'll replace the calories that it provides with lower energy intensive food which take up more land. Also think food miles

@UniofOxford Maybe then just stop making new cars of any sort and save the embodied energy, tricky for car producers but cars will actually live for a very very long time rather than the 3 year consumer refresh cycle

@rhamdu @UniofOxford @OurWorldInData Eat less factory produced meat but in reality precious little produced in the UK but that doesn't make good copy. Well managed pasture that cannot be used for anything else in terms of food production sequesters much more CO2 if it is grazed than a cow farts per year.

If we halted all fossil fuel emissions immediately but continued to eat meat at the same rate, it's likely we would still miss the 1.5 degrees global warming reduction target set out by the Paris Agreement by 2050. 📈 | @OurWorldInData #WorldFoodDay | #TruePlanet

@janrosenow China will be so pleased, EU MS will continue to purchase their PV panels built, and REE requiring storage processed, with questionable labour practices...

7. The current RES target of 32% by 2030 will be increased to 40% roughly doubling the share of solar, wind and other renewables in Europe’s energy mix by the end of the decade. The good news is that we can do even more and move even faster. climact.com/en/increasing-…

Finally it’s out - the EU’s Fit for 55 package. What’s in it? Is it ambitious enough? Find out more in this thread. The good, the bad and the ugly.

Final presentations from the @UniofOxford and @UniRdg_Met and @metoffice Energy-Climate hackathon. Great to see the fantastic progress during this week on everything from hourly solar power forecasting to running power system models with extreme weather events

@MWilcoxson It would reduce marine emissions but increase land-based emissions from HGVs having to make a huge detour on their normal Dublin to Dover trek...

@richardabetts Good then the idiots who destroy crops, pester animals or allow their dogs to will be properly punished. Lots of people don't seem to be able to responsably access the countryside they're allowed on now so more access would be a bad thing

@RBourchier I commute the same distance and would say, because most people don't want to be smelly when they arrive, require a shower, take about 30 minutes getting ready once they get there...

I live in Ealing I am 55 - this November morning (it now 7:10am) I have a meeting in Croydon at 9:00 am - 16 miles away I am going by bike - it will be quicker than by car. I genuinely want to know why most other people would reach for their car keys rather than cycle.

Absolute madness this morning on a stretch of High Street Kensington where there's not yet a dedicated lane for cyclists. This is the most frightening scenario on a bicycle, when the danger comes out of nowhere.
