Desert Forest Golf Club - 1962 Red Lawrence For good players and in the know locals, Desert Forest is often mentioned as the BEST course in Arizona. I’d say it’s definitely in the conversation! Desert Forest was the original exclusive, luxury desert course, but it eschews much of the grandiose of other clubs. Here, it’s about the golf. It’s a walking preferred club, which is crazy rare here. The are no cement cart paths ruining the beauty. The green to tee walks are short and sweet. The course is as minimalist as desert golf can be. No fairway bunkers. No out of bounds. One water hazard. Just natural hazards that eat your balls if you are offline. It is a challenge, not a place for those who spray it. Every hole is isolated, the hole day you feel like the only one on the course. The turf is perfect. The clubhouse perfectly understated. The members are golfers, who love and appreciate golf in a much more traditional way than most of Scottsdale. A very special place that few know about and the 200 members are perfectly fine with that.

Caught a glimpse of WeKoPa's Saguaro en route to Monterey Peninsula CC for some consulting! Saguaro took us to AZ for what became a dozen great years before heading to the Carolinas. I have fond memories of working with Bill & Ben and alongside Jeff Bradley there in the desert!
