@PH_CTID @danmufc11 @TeleFootball @Carra23 For 24 years and Fergie came in and did it within 2 years. Multiple clubs spent more than United and from 1992-1997 City outspent United. Pep had an average first season so spent £300m in one window.

@David_Murray7 @danmufc11 @TeleFootball @Carra23 It was 3 years before for both Barca and City, that's a long time in football, both were in pretty bad spots. Aberdeen were in the best form in Scotland second half of the previous season. United also spent more than anyone to win a title, whereas Pep has been outspent by others

🏆 "Those placing Ferguson ahead of Guardiola baffle me. I struggle to agree with a single reason to justify that claim." @Carra23 explains why Guardiola leaves Manchester City as the greatest football coach there has ever been 👇 telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/…

@PH_CTID @danmufc11 @TeleFootball @Carra23 Pep joined City in 2016 and Barca in 2008. City won the PL in 2014 and Barca won LL and CL in 2006. That’s 2 years 👍 Barca and City were hardly in bad spots finishing runners up, 3rd and 4th in the league plus CL SF & a cup win for City ffs. Aberdeen still didn’t win the league

@PH_CTID @danmufc11 @TeleFootball @Carra23 The difference is Barca won La Liga & the CL 2 years prior & City won the PL 2 years prior. He also had a Bayern team that just won the Treble. Fergie walked into an Aberdeen & Utd side who hadn’t won league titles in 24 & 19 years & had very little success in the years prior.

@danmufc11 @TeleFootball @Carra23 Obviously Carra is wrong that there's no reason any could think Fergie was better. However, both the Aberdeen and United teams Fergie inherited finished closer to the top of the table than the Barca and City teams Pep inherited. I don't think it's as different as you're saying

@Muppetiers It’s absolutely clear what we need this window and anything less is going to be bad for INEOS

@AdamMcKola It’s going to be much tougher with 4 competitions but he has done well considering everything. If he gets the job he needs serious backing though

@livinglegend782 @McFlybowy I agree we need a RB LB CB but we’re not going to sell Dalot, Shaw or Maguire & we should keep Casemiro for 1 more year but he seems to have made his mind up to leave. We need to get rid of Bayindir, Onana, Malacia, Ugarte, Mount, Hojlund, Zirkzee, Rashford & Sancho 100%.

@McFlybowy Sell dalot buy a better right back Sell Shaw buy a better left back Sell maguire buy a better defender Get 2 strong midfielders in addition to mainoo. Let casemiro and ugarte leave. The team needs this to perform well in champions league.

Carrick has won 9 games out of 13, losing only 2, he’s played Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City in that time frame winning 3 of 3, the only 2 losses came against Leeds and Newcastle. He’s done this by simply going back to Man Utd foundation of not over complicating things, 4 at the back, 2 at the base and 3 forwards, Simple and direct football, he’s improved 70% of the players individually too, Casemiro, Sesko, Mainoo, Maguire, Heaven and most Importantly taking Bruno Fernandes to another level. If Man Utd misses out on giving him the job permanently, they will start all over again.
Fabrizio Romano@FabrizioRomano

🚨🏆 Manchester United, almost back in Champions League with only one more win needed… if Brighton win all remaining games. Michael Carrick has already won more PL games than Ruben Amorim as Man United manager this season.

Marcus Rashford’s future up in the air as Man Utd and Barcelona prepare to hold talks over England star before the World Cup. Utd sticking to £26m deal with Rashford’s wages set to go back up to £315k-a-week if they qualify for Champions League #mufc mol.im/a/15743291

@ChrisWheelerDM If they buy him for £26m don't they negotiate a new contract with him? So what his salary would have been if he stayed with United is irrelevant?

@Kaskiii7 @Muppetiers Fair enough that’s your opinion. I think he’s also got good athleticism, he’s tall, can score a goal and is a good passer and progressor of the ball and for me in a better team he could become world class but I get why you don’t feel that way based on this season

@Jamesbr78969571 @Muppetiers I bet Spurs fans are sick of all their players but we were the same last year. Sometimes it takes a managerial change for a player to become class. I just rate him in terms of his attributes

@ace68666592 @RayToluAyo @Corballyred Funny how he doesn’t list any Liverpool player yet they used to hype shite like Carragher, Agger, Skrtel and Hyppia as the best CBs in the league. Take Gerrard’s penalties away and Scholes outscored him in less games. It was also easy for Gerrard to look good in bad teams

@RayToluAyo @Corballyred You're arguing with someone who claimed Lampard and Gerrard retired Scholes (11 PL trophies) but still said Lampard was over hyped but Gerrard (with 0 PL trophies, never stopped United from equalling and overtaking their league trophies) isn't over hyped

12 most overhyped PL players ever: - Jaap Stam: Only 79 PL games for Utd before Fergie sold him. - Paul Scholes: Zero impact for England; retired by Lampard/Gerrard at 29. - David Beckham: Flopped at Real Madrid; not missed by Utd. - Eric Cantona: Never performed in Europe or internationally. - Didier Drogba: Avg just 11 PL goals/season (many pens). - Frank Lampard: Defensive liability; poor all-round game; ~40% goals from set pieces. - Eden Hazard: Avg 12 PL goals/season; only 1 season ≥20 in 7 yrs. - Willian: Avg just 5 goals/season. - Jack Grealish: £100m+ transfer; avg only 3 PL goals/season. - Mesut Özil: Ghosted in big games; luxury player; avg 4 PL goals/season. - Cole Palmer: 40% of 45 PL goals from pens; rarely vs Big 6; only 2 open-play goals vs top teams. - Phil Foden: Hailed best England player since Gazza despite 4 intl goals in 49 caps. Did I miss anyone 😄
