Really enjoyed presenting our work on smartphone-based emotion regulation at #ICA24. We found that media-selection is the main driver of the association between affect and smartphone ER over time. It was special to be part of such great panel, and to see so many familiar faces!

Overall, these effects were very small in size. However, they were captured at the momentary within-person level; when repeated over time, they might accumulate and have downstream implications for well-being. [5/5]

...in days when individuals spent more time mindlessly scrolling, they also perceived a relative decrease on their general well-being, which seems to be explained by how guilty they felt about spending such time on their smartphone. [4/5]

The great @JMSchokkenbroek just gave an inspiring presentation on phubbing (ignoring someone because of 📱 use) and electronic partner surveillance 🔍. She shows how the experience of being phubbed makes people check on their partner through digital tools. #ECREA2022
