@Davidmichie I don’t know where he would fit. And I don’t want us giving up too much for him either. I don’t want to see any players go. I love the kids and older guys we have.
English

@bimmyjartel @Sivixio28 And absolutely deserved to get dropped. His disposal was putrid at times last week. Henry had a huge job on Thursday and delivered.
English

Jack Bowes would feel cheated. If he got dropped for his last game then Jack Henry needs to get same treatment. But he won't. #AFLLionsCats
English

@chapschatcats Absolutely got selection right. With Blicavs and Miers returning, we were never going to be short through the middle. Bowes is competing with Bruhn and to a lesser extent O'Connor and Martin for a spot. Assume Martin gets managed next week which might open the door again.
English

@Davidrc1985 There's also just only so much room for each type of player. Did we really look short a midfielder against the Lions? And which player of the same position would we have taken out to fit Bowes? Feel they got selection right again - I think it's an anomaly when they get it wrong.
English

@turtlemagpies You are old, hence the decision to blood younger players.
English

99% of shit media narrative chasing clicks ...
Collingwood are too old and need blood younger players.
Pies v Swans plays 8 players with 20 games or less.
Oh Pendlebury should've played as a 38 year old off a 6 day break managing achilles/heal soreness 🙄

@lukesssssssss33 @RalphyHeraldSun It's only an advantage if you have a good team. Geelong still would have won their most recent 4 flags if their home games were played at the G instead of KP. If the squad was ordinary, they could play every game at KP and be miles off a flag.
English

@RalphyHeraldSun Biggest advantage in the league playing games at GMHBA. No other team in the league gets to train everyday at a venue and then play 8-9 home games there. Ridiculous unfair advantage.
English

Your reminder that Geelong, which has played in 14 of the last 19 preliminary finals, is into third position on the ladder. It has only Tyson Stengle out of its best side. And has 10 of its last 13 games in Victoria. Six of them at GMHBA Stadium, where it has won the last eight games. And has Carlton, Essendon, Richmond in that run.
English

@lukeR15sky The best game Neale has had on Andrews. Incredibly harsh call.
English

Geelong were good. Brisbane were off. Smith leading the Brownlow. Shaun die hard (right place right time) mannagh. Danger passenger FC. S.Neale bathed by Andrews only 2 goals. Neale, Ashcroft good games for Brisbane Cameron always owns Geelong. Umpires love us BTW #AFLLionsCats

To be confirmed obviously, but hearing Blues will be on a Saturday in Rounds 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21, meaning no free-to-air exposure for the club into Victoria on 7. Despite the struggles, Carlton had been one of the most watched clubs this season.
Sam Edmund@Sammy__Edmund
Carlton and Essendon have been banished from prime-time football. The AFL has ripped the Blues and Bombers off broadway completely in the new round of fixtures released today. Neither club has been given a Thursday or Friday night game after the league finally lost patience. bit.ly/4wyPT94

Over 100,000 members with everything we’ve seen over last 20+ years
Averaging highest home crowd per game this year
Averaging second highest crowd overall
Yep we’re a big club 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
markedw@Markedw
‘Carlton is one of the big clubs’ this arrogance is why they are irrelevant and will remain so. They used to be big. All the metrics so otherwise now and coaches won’t want to go to that rabble

@AFL @CalTwomey Polly Farmer coached Geelong from 1973-1975

The League is stepping up its search for the game's first First Nations senior coach, speaking with Indigenous leaders and expanding programs designed to develop future coaches, @CalTwomey reports.

Dear @GeelongCats
Can we please now officially put end to the James Worpel experiment. He’s just a Temu Kane Tenace.
Thanks 🙏
English

@colonelraoulski @Thomo_Grant He inherited a team that got slaughtered in a prelim and then lost the best player in the comp.
English

@Thomo_Grant I don't understand the rationale around his performance and his standing as an AFL coach. He's an insufferable polli-waffle, who inherited a champion team. I must be missing something.
English

Has become an incredible leader and coach in my view. Love his outlook on all things football. Genuine star.
General Au ha balthasar@colonelraoulski
@Thomo_Grant Chris Scott?
English

@VinceRugari How much did he end up losing? Must have been a small fortune.
English

@bimmyjartel @GeelongCats Could or should? I think Clarky is just throwing it out there.
English

Jay Clark suggesting @GeelongCats could go after Toby Greene.
Don't have a problem with that. Too hard to get Butters and doing a trade with Port.
English

@lucasgarth Not sure record equalling carries much weight for fans.
English

Pies member attendance in the Ponsford once again terrible. I've heard plenty of excuses this year for empty seats across the board but even though it's an away game, it's a record equalling match from a club legend. Pretty disappointing.

English

@tom_king79 @KrockFootball How many concussions has Clark had. Gotta be at least 4 or 5.
English

Geelong has named Gryan Miers in its VFL team for tomorrow’s match against Collingwood.
From memory, first VFL game since 2018.
Jhye Clark out with concussion.
