The Leafs haven’t gotten better through the early hours of free agency, but I don’t think there’s a single UFA deal that’s been signed so far that I wish the Leafs had been the ones to sign.
Treliving is going to have to get creative to round out the roster.

Not really expecting a significant move from the Leafs today. They have a good chunk of cap space to bargain buy later in free agency or make another trade.

Going to say this before we get more information:
Losing a $10.9M player "for nothing" is sometimes better than a sign and trade. Cap flexibility is incredibly valuable in this league and using cap space effectively is more important than getting "something" for a pending UFA.

Of all the team Canada options, Brandon Hagel doesn't seem to be getting much public attention despite being a perfect 4th line option. He's tied for 10th in the NHL in even strength points, an excellent PKer, and can be a pest. Absolutely cooks Nate MacKinnon here for a shorty.

As of right now, it's:

ZAR-Kerfoot-Hunt
TOR definitely needs to address the lack of scoring options in the bottom six at the deadline.
