They are frightened to death, absolutely and totally frightened to death. You saw the stuff with Gary Lineker last season and obviously people at the head of the BBC, I think day by day, I think the integrity of the corporation gets chipped off. It used to be absolutely fantastic but they are woke, plus 100%.”

@CorkyMrC @JonathanPieNews You ever been kicked in the head Ian? Pretty sure it will help you drop whatever you're holding in your hand. Also, why are politicians getting involved in police matters? What the hell does Zach P know about policing?

@JonathanPieNews Ok. Huge fan of yours, seen you live. I agree the police need to deal with what’s in front of them. Always. 2 things here though. How does kicking someone forcibly in the head help? Seriously? Why are the Met Police getting involved in politics? Dangerous precedent.

@JonathanPieNews @CorkyMrC It seems to me that those officers were a dangerous threat to life. Yes, he did a terrible thing. They tasered him, he was on the floor. Kicking him in the head, more than once, is unacceptable. And, no, I’m not a trained police officer…I’m not sure they were properly trained.

@FabrizioRomano Pretty laid back take considering the state of Chelsea's finances. Without that money next season, CFC are facing the very real possibility of a transfer embargo. I'm not sure that would help his "plan" for the team.

🚨 Liam Rosenior: “The reality is, does everything change with or without Champions League? No”. “The plan, in terms of what this team needs and what we need to be successful, doesn’t. The context around that does. So, money, especially finances, that type of thing”.

Working people shouldn't bear the brunt of global gas price shocks while electricity generators make exceptional profits. So we're taking action to help break the link between high gas prices and high electricity prices, meaning stronger protection against future energy shocks.

@TheAthleticFC Those revenues show they're not really a big club. They are a manufactured entity purely created by abramovich as his toy. Their current finances don't look sustainable. No doubt they'll find new ways to cook the books.

▪️ Chelsea’s operating losses under BlueCo have totalled £689m over the last three years, or £629,000 every single day. ▪️ Under BlueCo, Chelsea has spent £1.867bn on new signings, including more than £1bn on players aged 24 and under. They have spent more on teenagers than the rest of the “Big Six” combined. ▪️ The loss at 22 Holdco Limited, the uppermost UK-registered company in the BlueCo group, was even more stark: £700.8m. In its first 38 months of existence, losses at 22 Holdco were £1.852bn. ▪️ BlueCo has taken on £1.390bn in debt to fund its activities. If 22 Holdco were a single football club, it would be the most indebted on the planet. ▪️ Chelsea’s commercial income of £200.9m trails its nearest "Big Six" rival by over £60m and is more than £100m behind the average of those five teams. ▪️ Chelsea’s wage bill reached £374m last season, accounting for 76% of the club’s total revenue — the highest such ratio among the Premier League’s "Big Six”. ▪️ A £500m loan from Ares Management is currently accruing interest at a rate of 11.23%; if left unpaid until 2033, the total bill is projected to balloon to over £1.4 billion. @CWeatherspoon_ investigates Chelsea's finances under BlueCo. bit.ly/4twJauo

🚨 OFFICIAL: FC Barcelona complaint to UEFA. “Barcelona has submitted a complaint to UEFA regarding the refereeing performance in the Champions League quarter-final tie played against Atlético Madrid. The club considers that, across both legs of the tie, several refereeing decisions were made that did not comply with the Laws of the Game, resulting from an incorrect application of the regulations and a lack of appropriate intervention by the VAR system in incidents of clear significance. According to FC Barcelona, the accumulation of these errors had a direct impact on the course of the matches and on the final outcome of the tie, causing significant sporting and financial harm to the club. Through this complaint, the Club reiterates the requests previously made to UEFA and, at the same time, offers to collaborate with the organisation with the aim of improving the refereeing system to ensure a more rigorous, fair and transparent application of the Laws of the Game”.

We have 2 converted farm buildings on our farmyard that we let out to holidaymakers. We never hit the Welsh government’s recent target of letting them out for over 182 days a year (even though they’re available all year) because we’re inland, not in the coast. They’ve just sent us a backdated premium (additional 50%) council tax bill for the last three years. It’s over £26,000. I am seriously concerned for my husband’s mental health. We can’t pay that. We can’t sell them as they’re not suitable for permanent accommodation. We can’t rent them out as they’re not classed as permanent accommodation. What the actual fuck are we meant to do here?!!

That only shows you the scale of the overall loss (highest number is obviously HoldCo), and it's a huge figure. The individual breakdowns help show how despite that loss there is compliance, as well as things like the wage bill, amortisation, scale of the UEFA settlement, legal costs and women's team purchase price for the 7.6% stake sale. And BlueCo x HoldCo don't share identical losses, which again is why breaking it down is helpful for those who want to understand the Chelsea-specific numbers, especially in relation to PSR/FFP compliance or future liabilities.

Instead of waffling all you had to say was BlueCo and Holdco have a 700mil loss
Ben Jacobs@JacobsBen

Some headline numbers from Chelsea FC Holdings, BlueCo's and Holdco's full accounts for the year ending June 2025. CFC Holdings declared a pre-tax loss of £262.4m compared to a profit of £128.4m for the prior year. The shift is "primarily due to a profit on the sale of a subsidiary [hotel sale] of £198.7m recognised in the prior year". Revenue increased by £22.4m year-on-year, but cost of sales and administrative expenses rose by £117.4m. This is noted as a mitigating factor for the scale of the loss. It is primarily attributed to increased amortisation and impairment on player registrations, increased cost of sales including player wages, and costs related to regulatory matters, including the £26.5m settlement with UEFA. Chelsea's wage bill is up from £294.6m to £312.8m. Intangible assets have increased to £1.05bn from £1.04bn. This is due to £305.5m of player acquisitions including Liam Delap, Mike Penders, Dário Essugo and Mamadou Sarr. This was offset by total amortisation impairment losses of £230.3m and the disposal of player registrations with a combined net book value of £67.9m. CFC Holdings made a net profit on player trading of £57.9m but that was down from £152.5m in 2024. The main sales referenced are Conor Gallagher, Bashir Humphreys, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Ângelo. After the reporting date, six Chelsea men's football players were signed at an initial cost of £263.3m. 15 players were sold at a profit of £31.8m. BlueCo's net loss for the year, after taxation, was £619.0m compared to £402.6m in 2024. The declared pre-tax loss number is £630.1m compared to £430.3m in 2024 and is noted as driven by investment in CFC, CFCW and Strasbourg. For the 2024/25 tax year, BlueCo reported revenue of £536.5m. It is also confirmed that Alexis Ohanian's 776 Chaos Fund paid £18.5m for a 7.6% stake in Chelsea Women split via two share purchases. Based on that number, 776 valued Chelsea Women at £243.4 million. CFCW declared a loss for the year before taxation of £17.1m compared to £8.4m in the prior year. Turnover increased by £9.8m, offset by an £18.6m increase in operating costs. Strasbourg declared a loss for the year before taxation of £65.8m compared to £12.3m in the prior year. Turnover for the year at the Ligue 1 club decreased by £24.2m, down from £57.7m, largely due to reduced broadcasting revenue and the partial closure of the stadium for part of the reporting period. The overall HoldCo pre-tax loss is £700.8m (up from £473.2m in 2024) and is adjusted to £689.7m post-tax. It is also noted that there is £23.3m compared to £4.3m in 2024 of accruals and deferred income representing amounts that are due to settle ongoing legal matters. This includes £18.0m (€21.0m) under a settlement agreement relating to UEFA's Financial Sustainability Regulations, which concluded during the financial year.
