It says a great deal about the esteem in which Gyles is held that he was asked to the studio on the very day of Her Majesty’s death, providing, as ever, insightful comment with dignity and poise. Very few people could do this as well as @GylesB1.

Throughout this last week since the Queens death I think @GylesB1 has been an amazing narrator, historian and storyteller on @BBCNews A very interesting and knowledgeable man helping us to make sense of such a difficult time. Thank you Gyles.

Raising a glass to the memory of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh at the table on which he was born 100 years ago - with friends from the table’s present owners, Howe Robinson, shipping brokers, & @FieldsInTrust, the first national charity of which HRH became head in 1947.

Here I am just now sitting at the dining room table on which Prince Philip was born in Corfu 100 years ago on 10 June 1921. His father, Prince Andrea of Greece, sold the table in 1932 for 7,000 drachmas. It’s been the boardroom table at Howe Robinson shipping brokers ever since.
