@BillowKerrow It's just a government job, champ. That's not where the money or power are. Not sure what you are crying about. He would still do better than you even if he resigned and started selling mangoes by the roadside.

Spent the past 10 days in Jeddah and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with a client TATU CITY, business partners and friends. Of course, such travels give the discerning traveller comparative perspectives of how governments run their affairs and what one can learn from the countries you visit. It also buts one in painful and cruel perspective the morass of problems that holds back Kenya. These are some of my observations. 1. Saudi Arabia is a country led by visionary and selfless leadership. Crown Prince and PM MBS is hell bent on transforming his country and people. Saudi Arabia is led by People who love their country and people and want move both foward. Their country's interest comes number 1, 2 and 3. 2. Corruption is unheard of and the rule of law (law that is known, obeyed and implemented to the letter) is ingrained in the national culture. The Kenyan craze of our leaders asking "what is in it for me...and what can I leave for my children" before they sign off a contract is unheard of. 3. Industrialisation is at a very advanced level. Saudi Arabia is manufacturing hub where the private sector runs everything and government creates enabling environment. We visited some amazing factories. 4. The people and their welfare provides the raison d'etre for Saudi government's very existence. Health care, education and infrastructure are all geared to advance the welfare of the citizenry. You will see walkways running into kilometres with watering joints all over Riyadh. 5. Riyadh is a construction site with an impressive and amazing architecture landscape. They just don't build tall ugly towers of concrete and glass. They build beautiful award winning structures. 6. Education, especially for girls is high priority of the Saudi regime. Girls only Universities are common and one in Riyadh is beautiful and world famous. Scholarships for foreign students is now very common in Saudi Universities. 7. Culture and their national heritage is promoted and protected. Of course Saudi Arabia has an ancient civilisation and is the origin many Abrahamic religions. The government takes this responsibility very serious and promotes it for the benefit of its citizenry. 8. Affordable housing is big. We visited beautiful homes in Jeddah. The target is have 75% of Saudi Nationals owing homes by 2030. They have passed the initial target of 65% 9. Private sector is big in Saudi Arabia. 10. We had amazing hosts including the people's ambassador to Riyadh @WehliyeMohamed and many others including the gracious and affable Ambassador of an East African country...asante sana bwana Ambassador and pass our regards to Boss... 11. Not just Kenya, but Africa has alot to learn from Saudi Arabia...resource utilisation, shutting out corruption, industrialisation, corruption free infrastructure, affordable housing, private sector, selfless leadership etc.

Werder Bremen has canceled its planned trip to the United States for May 2026, citing the “political situation in the country” as the reason. The club’s management stated that the current political climate in the U.S. and Trump’s policies are incompatible with Werder Bremen’s democratic values.

The government blames "global inflation" for the cost of living. The data says otherwise. A 50kg sack of flour: 🇸🇴 Mogadishu/Baidoa/Garowe/Kismayo: $32 - $37 🇰🇪 Nairobi (Eastleigh): $18 - $22 🇪🇹 Addis Ababa: $17 - $21 Why are Somalis paying double? Because they are paying the "Tax of Insecurity." The difference between $18 and $37 is the cost of illegal checkpoints, port corruption, and a fragmented economy. We don't have a global inflation problem; we have a local leadership problem. My Economic Security Plan removes internal trade barriers and secures our supply lines. #Somalia2026

@SafaricomPLC this needs to be addressed pronto. I am not that person's guarantor so why should I not get my money back? Why should I help someone else repay their overdraft. This should be a beautiful class action suit begging for attention right here. Cc @Safaricom_Care

On the border of Kenya and Ethiopia, we have Dawa River This is a perennial river that flows throughout the year. I usually wonder why they cannot tap it and pipe the water atleast to Mandera county and eleviate issues of water shortage

@Benign_Overlord Meru is halfway to Mandera? Tangu lini? Mandera is almost 1,100kma from Nairobi while Meru is only 227. The bit from Isiolo to Mandera, which is 858kms, is almost all rough road. A Meru MP is 4 hours away from his constituents while his Mandera counterpart is 2 days away.

This is why they have no clue of how life is for their constituents. Most MPs from my County, Meru which is about half-way to Mandera from Nairobi, usually travel to Meru from Wednesday and spend the weekend in their constituencies and travel back to Nairobi on Mondays in time for bunge on Tuesday. Also, these MPs do not even attend all parliament sessions. So where are they and what are they doing when not in parliament?
Ahmedrashid Burow@AhmedrashidB

A member of Parliament can never operate from his Constituency..Do you think all Mps represent the Constituencies within Nairobi? How can an Mp operate from Mandera?.They don’t have choppers to move around..It’s not a crime at all for a member of parliament to live in Nairobi.

Nice try @JDVance. My father came to America on a scholarship in the early 60’s, during the civil rights era, and earned a masters in engineering. I was born in DC and proud to represent MPLS in the MN Senate. Looks like you took time away from the couch to try out comedy.
