@JamesNUFC92 More limited than Bruno, yes. But not very limited. In my opinion he's a very good all-round player. In-possession he has a good switch pass, great shooting from distance and good set-piece taking ability. That's valuable when added with his OOP work.

@DbChatterjee Tonali is fast and strong. He looks good because of Howe’s poor tactical set up, leaving him needed to do ridiculous recovery runs and cover large amounts of space. Tonali is very limited in possession. Sack Howe. Ensure technical quality is present in any summer signings.

The Guimaraes news coming out is nice, and is a lot more realistic for current United than Anderson/Tonali, who City Arsenal will be in for and will be 100m+ Bruno will be more affordable, and is an upgrade on Mainoo. Pair with a ball-winner (Baleba?) and that's a good MF.

@JamesNUFC92 I meant Bruno cost 30-40m when Newcastle signed him from Lyon. I think you're severely underestimating Tonali btw. He will be super difficult for you folks to replace if he indeed leaves this summer.

@DbChatterjee This is absolute nonsense. Bruno is Newcastle’s best and most important player. Tonali is Newcastle’s 4th best midfielder. Bruno would cost 100 million pound and is extremely unlikely to leave.

If I had no idea about United's academy and watched this FA Youth Cup game, I would have come out of the first half thinking only Noah Ajayi is a player with any chance of making a senior United team.

@totalf0otball Yeah, plus Safonov being older has probably helped him manage the expectations of a PSG role quicker as well I guess.

@DbChatterjee To be honest, Safonov was just as impressive but in lesser minutes. I guess one didn't need the time to adapt and one still needs time. 🚶‍♂️

This is so interesting. Chevalier was one of the best GKs in Ligue 1 while at Lille. Really goes to show performances at one club, esp. by a young player, doesn't always translate to a different club (with different contexts) United gets too much hate for the Sancho signing imo.

Lucas Chevalier (24) could leave PSG in the summer. Several clubs have already made enquiries for the goalkeeper, who has been surpassed by Matvey Safonov (27) in the hierarchy. (L'Éq) getfootballnewsfrance.com/2026/lucas-che…

If Dalot is so good at making runs behind the defence and constantly go one-on-one, just put him on some shooting drills in training please.

Can't lie, gen alpha cooked with the 6-7 meme. 😂 Feels even better seeing Casemiro pull it off again and again in our shirt.

There is no guarantee we make CL next season. We don't know who the manager is, whether they will be any good. It will be difficult to convince Tonali level of players. We have to scout great players who haven't burst out yet.

United midfield thoughts - I think at best we are at the stage Arsenal were 5 seasons ago. The stage of scouting players like Saliba, but for our midfield. Yes we would like Tonali/Anderson, but they would want regular CL. If we qualify, this will be the first in 4 seasons.
