0 for 3! Also — notice how none of the ideas involve shortening the season which is partly how we fell into this tanking sinkhole in the first place. They come up with 3 “solutions” and none of the 3 are “what would 72 games look like?” This league is so frustrating

The NBA presented three comprehensive anti-tanking concepts to its Board of Governors on Wednesday, with modifications expected to each before a formal vote in May, per ESPN sources. 1. 18 teams in draft lottery (seeds 7-15 in each conference) – flattened odds, with bottom 10 teams having an 8% chance, the remaining 20% odds distributed in decreasing order for 11 through 18, and and a lottery drawing for all 18 picks. 2) 22 teams in lottery using 2-year record (seeds 7-15, plus the four playoff first round exits in both conferences). Lottery teams would reach a minimum win total floor in each season, such as 25 wins. If a team falls short of the floor, it gets slotted to meet the floor. Top 4 drawn as part of lottery, as is currently. 3) 18 teams in a "5 by 5" lottery – bottom 5 teams have equal odds for the top pick, with lottery formed for picks 1-5. Bottom 5 teams have a floor at 10; those that fall out of top 5 get sorted in a separate drawing.

People can agree to disagree on retaining Daniel Jones, but I think some important context to add is this: His average annual salary will be middle of the pack among current QBs. Honestly, that's probably appropriate given all the details (health, sample size, etc.). QBs cost $.

@HolderStephen That assumes there will be a market for Daniel Jones, which seems unlikely since, price aside, any team making him an offer would essentially have a massive chunk of their free agency budget frozen in place until the Colts took their full 5 days to decide whether to match.

I fully get Jones mastered Colts offense mentally, was breaking out before injuries struck, & has great rapport already w/ Steichen. But he's also coming off an Achilles tear! You can't tell me that Kyler Murray + Hendrickson + *FA LB* isn't better for 2026 than DJ at $50M😅.

@HolderStephen I couldn't care less about signing Pierce. He's fine, but just fine. Nothing special. The reason they should all be fired is deciding that Daniel Jones is the answer at QB, when there are years of history, both on the field and in the blue tent that say he absolutely is not.

Again, I still disagree with this take. QB > WR, always. Not controversial. If you want to criticize the Colts on their handling of Alec Pierce, then you should be focusing on the failure to sign him months ago, when he was cheaper. That’s what’s going to haunt them.

@HolderStephen Chris Ballard is a complete idiot. Nobody was signing Jones to a deal being hurt. Pierce should be tagged right now. They had options at QB regardless of if Jones signed or not.
