His theory is retarded because it assumes American voters aren't retarded. The two main parties are providing Americans exactly what they are asking for because they're asking for things divorced from reality that can't be achieved. They want lower taxes but higher spending, they want no more wars, but they don't want the weapons plants they work at closed. They want subsidized healthcare, but want to eat themselves into obesity and ruin their bodies with drugs and alcohol. The list goes on forever because Americans have been trained by decades of propaganda and deficit spending that they can have their cake and eat it too.

Forty-one years after the Supreme Court of Canada affirmed the right of every refugee in the country to fundamental justice, Canada’s federal government is denying certain classes of refugees the right to an oral hearing. jacobin.com/2026/04/canada…

@JBisAlwaysRight @charlescwcooke 40% of total dollars, because we're the largest economy in the world. Were not even top 20 in gdp spending on military. And that's with maintaining the fleet that does the majority of the work enforcing free trade and freedom of navigation globally.

@charlescwcooke Everything about this is tired. Yes, we spend so much money incredibly inefficiently on the things "we don't spend $ on"....but we also spend a TON on military spending - 40% of the entire Earth's military spending. More than half the added debt since 2001 is from Military $!

@lzrbrn @charlescwcooke 10-15% annually to protect and maintain the global supply chain whose tax revenue funds the other 85% of our government 50% of which is welfare and entitlement spending.

@polyfraggrenade No the post is that they don't have fake rights that no one else has. You can say dudes with weird fetishes don't belong in women's spaces and it is still illegal to kidnap, rob, or murder them just like anyone else. All "arming up" will do is make their suicide rate even worse.

Lol no, they haven't had access to anything cutting edge since we cut them off in 79. The majority of their air force are these museum pieces and the handful of "modern" planes they've begged from their 2nd world benefactors are at best inferior copies of the planes that will shoot them down.

@DeLevisV @dom_lucre F-4s from '79, sure, but Oghab-44's bunker-buster-proof caves unveiled '23 scream "we're hiding the good stuff deeper." Mock the props, miss the play.

@dom_lucre Iran's Oghab-44 bases burrow 500m deep, shrugging off our MOABs while packing F-14s, MiG-29s, and drone swarms. Khomeini's ghosts laughing at B-2 flyovers, they've been drilling these since the '80s Iran-Contra cash flood. Surface fleets? Decoys.

I'm on my knees, sobbing, begging you. Pleading with you. Please develop a basic understanding of physics. Just basic. You don't even need to understand PDEs or anything just the relatively simple principles of thermodynamics. Please. I'm begging you.

The vast data centers that power artificial intelligence guzzle huge amounts of energy but they also have another alarming impact, according to new research. They are creating “heat islands,” warming the land around them by up to 16 degrees Fahrenheit, and making life hotter for more than 340 million people. cnn.it/4rZSiG5

Just no, the Feds should refuse to guarantee any loans for this. The price would drop immediately & literally investing the $400k it would cost to attend over 4 years in an S&P 500 Index fund would produce a livable salary with an average return

People will post this as if the US doesn't pay for over 55% of all cancer research while being 25% (or 14% adjusted for PPP) of the world GDP, we spend a vastly disproportionate amount on it relative to everyone else and all they do in return is despise us.

Hey, remember that time we implemented income tax only for the top 3% of Americans? Then it applied to everyone, and the top 3% hired accountants to use loopholes to avoid it. And it to this day fucks everyone else? History repeats itself, thats issue.

Ok, Jamie: Let me clear things up for you. If my 5% wealth tax on billionaires was enacted you’d owe $135 million more in taxes & a family of 4 making $150,000 or less would receive a $12,000 payment. Oh, and you’d still be worth more than $2.5 billion. Seems pretty fair to me.

The No Kings rallies have evolved beyond basic anti-Trump liberalism. Their messaging is sharply antiwar, anti-oligarchy, and far more substantive than the “resistance” politics of Donald Trump’s first term. The Left should be proud to participate.jacobin.com/2026/03/no-kin…
