Today’s reminder: if your “diet” is about calorie deficit, you are missing some important context. All diets are not “good” for your health. Calorie deficit may not even be that important. We have to remember the role of hormones in how we make use of food. It matters because we are not machines; we are independently mobile manufacturing facilities. Our bodies decide how to use nutrients. Why? Because it’s not all fuel. We build our own replacement parts.

Meat is nutrient dense, low toxin. Our ancestors have eaten it as far back as we can find in the archeological record. Even 100 years ago, most humans were slim by today’s standards. The vast majority of your body is built out of proteins and fats. How can meat be the problem? 🤷‍♀️
