My family fled a war to come to the US after the Iran hostage crisis when I was 11. I remember being bullied to “go home.” Had we “gone home,” I may not have survived the war. And I wouldn’t have started @codeorg, which has helped hundreds of millions of students globally.

In Stockton, we have family values and believe that families are stronger together. We are a community full of immigrants and that diversity makes us great. @StocktonPolice doesn’t do ICE raids and has a policy that we do not stop or detain based on immigration status.
