After nearly a month away in South Africa, it was great to be back birding on the North Norfolk Coast again today. This imposing 2W Glaucous Gull, between Waxham and Horsey, was my primary target and posed beautifully when it finally flew in.

A gorgeous male Snow Bunting from Landguard, Suffolk, on 22 February. Three birds have been present here for much of the winter but will soon be off to their breeding grounds.

Record shot of Slavonian Grebe at Hollesley Marshes, Suffolk, this afternoon. A rare bird in the county since the demise of the Stour wintering population in recent years.

Hume's Warbler at Lowestoft, Suffolk this morning. A very active bird which showed well. A very pale individual with a call similar to a Pied Wagtail.

It was nice to see my first Killdeer on British soil in twenty years today at Ripley, Hampshire. Also, Little Gull of note here. Then, on to Holbury for the Great-tailed Grackle.

Pfrimer's Parakeet is a very local endemic, confined to one ridge of hills North of Brasilia. They were hard to track down at their northern roost sites until we found an inquisitive group in late afternoon:
