I’ve supported a step 5/6 football team since the age of 8 and have served on the committee for 25 years, to this very day. I’ve played, coached, managed, done the admin, run the website and social media channels, managed the bar, washed the kit, taken training, recruited, set up till systems and stock facilities, marketed, sought sponsorship, held community events, applied for funding and grants, attended meetings, marked out the pitch, swept the ground, made the tea, made the sandwiches, trained volunteers, built facilities, travelled around the country and everything in between. I am more than aware of the work required to run a non league football club and how challenging that is for all involved👍🏼

Absolutely pathetic. Opening statement says there was no budget that drew people in. I watched you play Step 6 football with players capable of playing step 3/4, blasting teams for fun and making a mockery of clubs that have been establised for over 100 years. Promotion after promotion, all as a result of having more cash than anyone else and turning non league footballers into martyrs, pimping themselves out to the highest bidder. And now you talk about not being able to compete with clubs on a budget. There are hundreds of clubs up and down the country, many with years and years of history, and crucially, an actual home ground. But they are repeatedly shunned for the sake of £50 and the chance to play football in someone else's home ground. And until the FA do something about all of the "new" clubs flocking into non league football with just a wide eyed owner and a YouTube handle, with no ground, no following, no history and no proper plan for sustainability, we will keep seeing it happen over and over and over again. Zero sympathy from me. Sorry.

I’d suggest capping the amount of cash you can throw at the lower echelons of non league football, supporting existing clubs who have been struggling and going extinct for years, and better governance from the games administration would be a better approach, but if that’s your take from what I wrote… 🤷🏻‍♂️

@SpencerOwen @Deanzey They moved to you at that level for clout, pretty obvious. Sak Hassan (not sure what level he joined) is very clearly motivated by that aspect of his career. The money and experiences you offered trumps pretty much every amateur outfit in the country, let’s not play victim

@SpencerOwen @Deanzey Yes they may not have been paid as much, but they chose to play for your club due to cameras and probably promises from the club. It’s a terrible outlook and looks like you’ve thrown the toys out the pram because you’re not winning or as relevant as you used to be. Very poor.

@Deanzey You might also want to add that just because a club says they don’t pay players, it doesn’t mean the players aren’t being paid. It just means money isn’t going through the books. Plenty of players get a brown envelope from a manager or sponsor

@Stokesyy1997 @Deanzey You’re right, but those established clubs usually had new “ambition” (£) and flew up leagues until lack of crowds/infrastructure/£ got exposed. The non league graveyard is littered with grand plans & wasted £ of clubs & egos who found out just how hard & expensive it really is.

If you can't afford to put out a competitive team at that level, put the team out that you can afford and let them try their best to stay up the proper way. Asking to be relegated is so tragic

@Deanzey @Tommy_Oldham1 😂😂you’ve clearly just googled “Youtube teams” without looking into any of it at all. I’m not really clued up on many of them, but i’m not claiming to be. But i know some of these aren’t even actual teams in any football league, and if they are, most are sunday league.
