I worked at Queen's Park for the Minister of Finance. I'm very familiar with the amenities Ministers have available to them. Ministers typically have a private washroom, a comfortable couch and often even beds or cots available to them for use 24-7 in their office or in the workplace. There is no earthly reason for a Minister who lives in Toronto to expense a nice hotel room, especially on nights the leg isn't sitting or cabinet isn't meeting. But even so, Ministers get a car and a driver to take them home any time they want! In other words, they weren't expensing hotel rooms to conduct public business. Instead it had to be for a private purpose. A private purpose they were hiding from their family. Which the press now have every right to speculate about and ask them about. #onpoli
