@curingtheworld @rcgp Not sure I heard about doctors tripping over themselves to leave Canada for other places though. Just here. The colleges are part of this. Either they want to get real about retention of doctors or they don’t. And this ridiculous fee, and others like it are part of the problem.

An actual disgrace. £423 for the use of a website and *MANDATORY* portfolio. These college fees are scandalous. Trainees are struggling financially due to years of pay erosion and this is simply tone deaf from a college allegedly trying to retain a workforce. #shame @rcgp

@gooding89 @MDzi @Parody_RCGP @rcgp I understand all trainees pay for these things. I don’t want trainees to pay for ANY of their training. Not a penny. The college fees are a rip off. The GMC fee is a rip off. Exam fees are a complete scam. I’m so fed up of every group sticking the hand into trainees’ pockets.

@MDzi @DearGPTrainee @Parody_RCGP @rcgp RCGP membership is £1200 for the 3 years, plus GMC. Exams are £1500 if pass both first time. Not cheap for either - same for all trainees in all specialities having to pay out huge sums for all exams and portfolios

@Parody_RCGP @rcgp I wonder how much it would cost them to just ~give~ us access to the portfolio which is the only thing we need as trainees. Yes there are some learning resources but we mandated to have the portfolio. I’m so sick of getting rinsed by colleges/ GMC/ training courses.

The number of people living in temporary accommodation like hostels and homeless shelters who also have mental illness is completely shocking.

GPs earning over £156,000 will have to declare their earnings next year, no doubt in an attempt to shame them. Can you imagine if the partners of a law firm were forced to publically declare their take home? There is such a weird stigma around making money in healthcare

My consultant is off this week. A discharge planning meeting was arranged for me take lead on. I gave Wed AM and Fri PM availability to secretary. Meeting booked for Wed PM. Why am I not surprised? I’ve pulled the plug as I refuse to cancel my other commitments.

I had an interaction with an 18 year old inpatient today and after our chat I cried and cried. 18 years old. Believing they have nothing to live for. Not ever having known happiness with no hope of things ever changing. I really need the system to work for them right now. 💔

Men who grandstand in meetings need to stop being invited to meetings. There is no need, none, not one, to speak for longer than 4 minutes about any topic, unless otherwise prompted. We aren’t here for a lecture. Drop the highlights and move on. Thanks

My training body/ employer have a website that works like it was made by a novice. They sent Travel Claim forms when Study claim forms were requested. Website has no study claim forms. No one answers the phone. Time wasted trying to get simple admin tasks complete. #nonsense

@DearGPTrainee @emmaspencer1975 The green dots mean you have linked those capabilities to one of your logs (could be ceps/CBD/learning reflections/supporting docs/whatever); that's the only good thing Abt 14F- can keep track of which capabilities you need to work on in portfolio

@DearGPTrainee Under supporting documentation. I like 14fish it's so much better than the previous eportfolio from a trainer point of view
