Ok, my prediction for #Traylor: they’re gonna get hitched, she’ll become invested in Travis' health and pour millions into TBI research after discovering the risks. Swifties unite and advocate, TBI progress made, and a new era for the NFL. 🏈💕 Sigh. A girl can dream.

The best way you can help a family with a baby is to not slow them down. Figure out their routine, and then don’t get in the way or make them wait for you. With gratitude, a tired mom who is hosting guests. (May this also serve as an overdue announcement of our fav Little Dude)

But another design that tests the assumptions of those CC studies *might* provide new and useful information. All this to say, as others have already said ad infinitum, think about your question in your specific context.

An under-appreciated point about study design: the question is not "Which study design is better?", nor is it "Which study design is better for this question?" It is, "Which study design is better for this question, right now?".

@statsepi I have been largely quiet on here but I spend a lot of time absorbing content. So much appreciation for those who are willing to share their expertise on here. But also F this place.

@camjpatrick I hope your situation is better than mine was! But I think it’s normal and OK to burn out occasionally. Remind yourself that it’s a marathon and find your pace. Consistency pays off more than anything.

Fun fact: I quit the first PhD program I enrolled in. It wasn’t the right fit, and I wasn’t ready for it. Ten years later, with so much more experience under my belt, I graduated with what I would consider a relatively fun doctorate (because I was ready and it was a good fit!)

Watching the Republican presidential debate. Why do the questions feel like what would be asked at a beauty pageant?

If you changed your professional social media/email, when did you put my PhD after your name? Asking for someone who is defending tomorrow. (Me.)

If a mother feeding her child makes you uncomfortable, that's on you. Learn to sit with, cope with, or - ideally - relate to that discomfort. Don't try to avoid your own discomfort by controlling others.

I think breastfeeding should be done privately - not in public - if the woman's private parts are exposed. We need to consider the effect it will have on other people not just the mother. Modesty matters. thetimes.co.uk/article/does-b…
