x.com/rioaxaca/statu… Capture of Turtle Nest Looting in Oaxaca Sanctuary; Federal Intervention Requested The looting of sea turtle nests on #Escobilla beach, one of the country's main nesting sanctuaries, was captured in a video shared on social media, raising alarms among environmentalists and authorities. The footage shows several people extracting eggs directly from the nests and interfering with the specimens during the nesting process, a practice considered a federal crime for endangering protected species. Escobilla Beach is renowned for the massive arrival of turtles, primarily olive ridley sea turtles, and therefore holds environmental protection status. Experts warn that illegal egg extraction threatens the reproduction and conservation of these species. According to current environmental legislation, the looting of nests and manipulation of sea turtles can result in prison sentences and fines, which are exacerbated when the incidents occur within protected natural areas. Following the video's release, social media users demanded intervention from the Federal Attorney's Office for Environmental Protection (@PROFEPA_Mx) to investigate the incidents, punish those responsible, and strengthen surveillance in the area.

Wildlife gardening/rewilding is really messy, so I've decided the garden needs a cleaner, more modern uniform look. I'm going to fill in the ponds, get rid of the trees and add some artificial grass. Nature is great at adapting and after all what's it ever done for us?

Remarkable! Today we can reveal we made a 'world-first' discovery yesterday as we have found Puffins nesting in trees (they normally nest underground!) The blog has the full on this remarkable story: isleofmaynnr.wordpress.com

Hi I just want to mark today. It’s 5yrs since I lost Myra to cancer. She was a wonderful remarkable partner & soul mate. I miss her all the time & I celebrate the life we had together. Life is such a beautiful gift it’s why I campaign so hard for those from whom it is stolen.

Let me take you back in time 98 years, to the summer of 1928. I have cleaned-up this autochrome shot of Anne Hathaway's Cottage in Shottery, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, which was taken by the visiting American photographer Clifton Royal Adams in 1928. It is an original colour plate process, not colourised.

I take you back 107 years to a field in France, shortly after the end of the First World War. I have cleaned-up this stunning autochrome study of a young girl with cornflowers, taken by Gustave Gain in 1919. The cornflower, (or bleuet) served as France's WWI remembrance symbol, just like the poppy in Commonwealth nations. The photographic plate was taken using an early colour process and isn't colourised.

After Peregrines and Kingfishers, I went to Richmond Park in Glasgow to see what I could see. As I left there to head for the train home, Otter popped up to give me a good hard stare as I crossed the River Clyde.

Stephen Marsh of Big Pond Kayaks has worked his magic once more. My beloved “Rwendo”, who saw me around Scotland on my year long trip has been completely refurbished. She looks incredible and awaits new artwork. Kerry’s brand new kayak is equally beautiful.

Let me take you back 116 years to the summer of 1910: I've cleaned-up this astounding autochrome of young Hélène Gélibert, engrassed in her crochet and enveloped in such beautiful iridescent light! It was taken in Monplaisir, France, by the Lumiere brothers and it depicts their niece (the daughter of Juliette Lumière). It is an original colour process from 1910 and not colourised.
