Trump has skipped EVERY correspondant's dinner across his presidencies. Except this one. His ratings are down, failed at Iran and his ballroom won’t be built. And all of a sudden there's a shooter in the lobby. Ok.

I want to say something many will hate but it needs to be said. I have met Nigel Farage. I do not know him well but I know the world he moves in. We move in similar circles sometimes. The kind of private rooms and members clubs that most people in Britain will never see. I know how the rich speak about ordinary people. They laugh. They joke about how easy it is to wind you up. They know exactly which buttons to press. They know you are angry and tired and struggling and they know you want someone to blame. That is why they point at boats while they pick your pockets. I did not grow up rich. I did not grow up in privilege. I understand struggle and the real world. But my life changed and now I see both sides. I sit with billionaires and politicians and decision makers and I hear conversations you never will. I know the truth. They do not care about you. They do not care about your future. They care about profit and control. They see ordinary people as tools or distractions. I am telling you this because I am tired of watching good people being manipulated. Look at your life before Brexit and look at it now. Look at your shopping bills. Look at what food costs in Europe right now. Look at how much tax you pay on imports. Look at your wages and energy prices and mortgages. Look at the 10,000 NHS staff we lost when freedom of movement ended. Look at the ambulances that do not arrive. Look at nurses and teachers using food banks. Tell me honestly. Are you better off? Nigel helped build the crisis you are living in. Then he pointed at immigrants and told you to blame them. That is the con. He pulled the UK out of the Dublin III agreement which means we cannot return asylum seekers to Europe anymore. He created the boat chaos then told you to panic about it. Someone who worked in immigration for more than ten years told me they saw it coming. It was planned. It is a strategy. And you are falling for it. Now he wants austerity again. He wants to cut wages for young people. He wants to rip up workers rights. He wants private health insurance and a French style NHS where the rich get treated first and the poor get nothing. He wants you fighting each other so you never see who is robbing you. If you vote for him you are voting to destroy your own life. Not mine. Yours. None of this affects me personally. I drink champagne with the people who control the money. I will be fine no matter what. Reform will not hurt me. Reform will hurt you. It will hurt your children. Your parents. Your future. I am telling you because I care. If I did not care I would stay silent and watch you suffer. You think I am your enemy because I make you uncomfortable. I am not. Your enemy is the one who lies to you and blames the vulnerable while he empties your pockets. Reform will not save you. Reform will finish you. Think. Before they take everything. 💷🇬🇧☕️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🫖

I’d never vote for a Party that would remove my friends, family and colleagues who live in the UK completely legally. Who pay their taxes and have integrated successfully in our wonderful, multicultural country. I will proudly fight everyone in that Party to make sure it fails.

They want to decide what books you can read, what history your children can learn, what medicines you’re allowed to take, what surgeries you can have, what gender you’re permitted to be, what sports you can play, which bathroom you can use, who you can love, and who you can marry. They want to own your library, your classroom, your hospital room, your bedroom—and now your television. They want to own the page, the pill, the joke, the chant, the kiss, the very pronoun in your mouth. And then, with breathtaking cynicism, they’ll look straight at you and say it’s the Democrats who are coming for your freedom. Small government? My fucking ass. This isn’t small government. This is government in your bloodstream, in your dictionary, in your bed, and now in your goddamn remote control. open.substack.com/pub/jojofromje…

Since MAGA is out there once again saying their Melon-hued Messiah is making “prayer great again”, let’s talk about God and Trump, shall we? When Donald was a 5 year-old boy, he was caught throwing rocks at a baby in a crib in the neighboring yard. When he was eligible for the draft, while his peers went off to war, he sought medical deferments for an ailment he didn’t have. He left his first wife, who said he raped her, for his second wife, who he cheated on with his third wife, who he cheated on with a porn star and a Playmate, who he then paid to keep quiet, before he lied about the money he paid them. Yes, really. He bragged about grabbing women by the pussy when he wasn’t making fun of their looks, their weight, their menstrual cycles, or calling them “dogs,” he cheated people out of their money, stole from charities, mocked a disabled reporter, joked about Paul Pelosi being attacked by a man with a hammer, opined about having sex with his daughter, insulted people who stutter, said he didn’t want war-wounded amputees in his sight, golfed and tweeted while Americans died from Covid, incited horrific violence in order to install himself in an office he was voted out of, and then pardoned every single person who perpetrated the violence he himself incited. He is named in the files of a notorious sex trafficker he spent decades being best friends with, and relocated said sex trafficker’s partner in crime to a bougie Club Fed cushioned with comforts most of the survivors of her abuse will never know. Yes, really. He’s a sociopathic, narcissistic, pathologically lying, serial sexual predator, and a bigoted, hateful, vitriolic criminal conman who refers to innocent immigrants as “vermin,” while praising murderous despots at the same time. He can’t cite a single passage from the Bible when asked but will still sell them for profit, he doesn’t attend church but worships instead every Sunday at Our Lady of The Perpetual Mulligan, and he’s even had the audacity to refer to himself as the second coming of Jesus. Yes, really. God has turned him into a tomato-sauce-stained sloth-like felon with bruised hands, slurred speech and swollen ankles. God impeached him twice, made him lose reelection once and visited upon his first term in office a once-in-a-lifetime global pandemic which ravaged our country along with the rest of the world. And then God convicted him on 34 counts and found him liable of defamation, sexual abuse & business fraud. God created someone as hateful, impulsive, intolerant, needy, angry, vengeful, malevolent, selfish, sadistic, depraved, amoral, areligious, idiotic, envious, devious and evil as Donald Trump, made his first presidency the most infamous in the history of time, and then rained down upon him the hammer of justice in historic fashion all so that he could return him to the office he once tried to steal? That’s God at work, is it? He handed the highest political office on the planet to the physical embodiment of the seven deadly sins rolled into a sadistic, senile, septuagenarian who personifies everything Jesus spoke against because he is so “devout”? The truth is that slimmest plurality of Americans, comprised of the dumbest, most willfully self-sabotaging fools in this country put him back in office for a second term because they either couldn’t or wouldn’t vote for a Black woman. But that victory is what the cult will point to as the “proof” their spiteful psychopathic savior was sent “by God.” Really?!? That he was “chosen” by God himself. Well, that’s straight up bullshit. But it’s also what they have to tell themselves, because despite everything he’s done and everything he’s said, despite what they can see with their own eyes and hear with their own ears—MAGA will still believe what they need to believe. Because the truth is that this was never about God. These people don’t worship God. They worship Trump.

This is what I mean about turning #Connolly into a martyr and Heroine among the hard right. The paper of law and order, the Daily Mail and #GBNews seeks to turn her into a people’s hero … and we sink, day by day, towards a national nastiness and hate which is being normalised.

I think we sometimes forget what these lads have been through. Today they walked into the dressing room and saw that empty number 20 shirt. They saw the family of their mate who will never get to see her husband and father again. They heard Anfield singing his name, and they went out there, gave absolutely everything, burned with the desire to win for him and Mo, desperate to score one for him too. Yeah, Slot’s subs weren’t great. Yeah, it’s obvious we’re not fully in sync yet, how could we be? We’ve been out of competitive rhythm, not having played a proper game since April 27. But honestly, I’d put all that aside. Those things will get better with time. The three points were all that mattered tonight. We’ll get better, no doubt about it. Everything will fall into place. But what we too often forget, when we’re busy with criticism, analysis, and all the talk about football, is what’s beyond football, losing Diogo Jota, and how hard that’s hit everyone. I’m unbelievably proud of these lads, of Anfield, of our supporters. I’m certain Diogo’s spirit will guide us towards silverware this season. The way Salah wanted that goal, just to dedicate it to Jota, says it all. And Anfield telling Jota’s family they’ll always be welcome here, that this is their home too that’s massive. For you, Diogo. What an emotional night. A proper Liverpool performance. A Jota-style finish from Ekitike, Salah’s tears, the goal tributes from Gakpo, Ekitike, Salah, Van Dijk - all of it for him. 💔
