As a Latina, I carry deep pride in the generations who fought for dignity, workers’ rights, and justice in our communities. That legacy matters. But so does the truth. When abuse, especially the sexual abuse of children and young women occurs, at any level of power, it leaves a stain that cannot be ignored. It shatters trust. It silences victims. And it forces too many women to carry shame that was never theirs to bear. This is not isolated. It trascends socioeconomic status, industries, borders, and movements. And the only way it stops is if we stop turning the other way to protect those in power. We must protect the victims. Women must stand united, loud, unapologetic, and relentless in calling out the worst of humanity. No excuses. No blind loyalty. No looking the other way. Because if we don’t, our daughters may be next. And that is a pain that no mother can endure.

Currently no lines at DCA. Thank you to the @TSA agents who continue to work despite not getting paid. They shouldn’t have to pay the price of the dysfunction in Washington DC.

As a former Member of Congress, I believe in protecting the integrity of our elections. But the SAVE Act isn’t about just showing an ID, which we all agree makes sense, or about protecting elections, this bill will block eligible Americans from voting many here in Florida. The bill requires people to show proof of citizenship, documents like a passport or birth certificate, to register to vote. Millions of Americans don’t have those documents readily available. In Florida alone, over 8 million eligible voters don’t have a passport. Let’s be clear: non-citizen voting is extremely rare. It is already against the law for people who are not U.S. citizens to vote. We should protect election integrity without putting unnecessary hurdles between eligible citizens and their right to vote.

It was great welcoming @CAgovernor Newsom and his incredible wife @jennifersiebe to Miami. Governor Newsom’s book (a must read) is an inspiring story of someone who despite many difficult challenges has become a national leader and a fighter for the people of California. America has made it possible for many of us to make it and that is what should give all of us hope as we face uncertain times.

War is not a video game. It should be a last resort, used only when absolutely necessary. This video posted by the official White House account makes light of the brutal reality of war and dangerously packages it as entertainment, even targeting young audiences. War is not content. It is not a meme. It costs lives. America needs leaders who understand the gravity of these decisions and lead with courage, seriousness, and integrity. This is getting out of control.

This is what I love about Miami and something many people outside of Florida don’t see, there is a lot of unity in our community despite the polarization and political fights. Miamians want to live in peace, in love and in fun. amp.miamiherald.com/news/local/com…
