BREAKING: Georgia State Representative Mesha Mainor stabs her constituents deep in the back and announces that she will be flipping from Democrat to Republican — a stunning betrayal as MAGA grows more fascist by the day. The worst part was the way in which she tried to defend her shameful decision... Mainor, who represents a blue district, claimed that her switch "wasn't a political decision" but was instead a "MORAL one." Of course, no moral person would jump ship from the Democrats — who stand up for average Americans and fight climate change — to the Republicans, who exist solely to funnel more wealth to the super rich. "I will NEVER apologize for being a black woman with a mind of my own," Mainor went on, as if her being Black somehow absolves her of her atrocious decision. It's not that Mainor can't be a Republican as a Black woman, it's that no moral politician of any race should be a Republican. "I didn’t leave the Democrat Party,” Mainor said before going on to whine about inane right-wing talking points like "left-wing radicalism" and "lawlessness." A Republican complaining about "lawlessness" is a particularly rich line of attack given the fact that the party's leader Donald Trump attempted an insurrectionist coup and is currently under federal indictment. Mainor told Fox News that Democrats "crucified" and "abandoned" her after she supported so-called "school choice," which is really just a conservative scheme to suck money out of the public education system and funnel it to the rich. She is an absolute disgrace, a despicable traitor, and voters in her district must ditch her next election. It's clear that she is nothing but a cynical careerist who thinks that the Republican Party will lead to more wealth and political power. BREAKING: Donald Trump and his crooked children REFUSE to comply with the discovery process in the ongoing fraud lawsuit brought against the Trump Organization by New York Attorney General Letitia James. The AG's office has submitted a letter to the court claiming that the Trumps still will not hand over emails and other shady communications. Investigators are particularly concerned about an "an unexplained drop-off in emails for Ivanka Trump." The emails turned over by Donald's daughter dropped from roughly 1,200 emails/month over the first nine months of 2014 to 37 emails/month in 2016 — a deeply suspicious change that could indicate she is lying to cover up damaging communications. The AG's office says that "not only" have the Trumps "failed to offer any substantive response to this inquiry" but "there have been no documents produced by Ms. Trump." The judge is now requiring the Trump to submit affidavits explaining how they have complied with the discovery so far — something that they will struggle to do since they have not been complying. They have until May 12th to deliver the remaining documents. Retweet to demand that the Trump's be severely punished if they fail to comply!

Leslie Stahl’s interview isn’t a one-off atrocity. It’s just one symptom of the media turning a blind eye to fascism. In just the last two weeks alone, the mainstream media have refused to recognize the threat posed by the Republican party and its de facto leader, Donald Trump. First, they based an entire week of reporting and analysis on Donald’s social media post that falsely claimed he was going to be arrested on March 21. Then, 60 Minutes made the confounding decision to give a platform to insurrectionist and fascist Marjorie Taylor Greene. The Republican Party has fallen in line behind Donald and, now that indictments against him have been announced, they will stop at nothing to undermine the American people’s faith in the rule of law. Donald’s attacks on social media against NY DA Alvin Bragg have already resulted in an avalanche of death threats. But just as they did in 2016, the media keep giving Donald millions of dollars worth of air time. It’s time for the media to take sides—democracy or fascism. It shouldn’t be that fucking hard.
