Where is the outrage from the @pvdschools leaders? Many teachers, parents, and community members are speaking out publicly but crickets from the “leaders”. Looks like $20k can buy a lot!

@radiokeri @mmoriarty61 Some teachers actually need a standardized test to tell them where there students are academically? That would shock me especially because the assessment results are available only AFTER the student is no longer in the teacher’s classroom. That’s helpful how?

@DeborahMuther @mmoriarty61 Some teachers actually DO. And parents need a bias-free assessment of where their children are. Schools need to be able to evaluate the effectiveness of teachers and systems need to know where additional resources should be allocated or where schools need intervention/support.

💯%. There is no substitute for MCAS. Districts use a wide array of measures, with a wide array of quality. Let’s stop exaggerating the burden and start lifting up the benefits of our independent, established common measurement.

@radiokeri @mmoriarty61 There are many, many valid measures of teacher effectiveness. Having students take a standardized test during a global pandemic is not a valid measure and absolutely NOT student centered.

@DeborahMuther @mmoriarty61 If teachers are afraid of having people check in on their effectiveness in delivering instruction, they shouldn’t be in the classroom.
