✍️The Department of Education’s proposed final rule on the definition of “professional degree” makes a gross error in leaving out post-baccalaureate NURSING degrees. Advanced practice nursing degrees take a tremendous amount of time and energy and limiting federal loan opportunities to pay for this education will not help our nation’s nursing shortage. I am sending a letter to @EDSecMcMahon and @EDUnderSecKent asking for an immediate reconsideration of this proposed final rule to ensure current and future nurses maintain access to appropriate federal borrowing levels. Affirmative action was never a complete answer in the drive towards a more just society. But for generations of students who had been systematically excluded from most of America’s key institutions—it gave us the chance to show we more than deserved a seat at the table. In the wake of the Supreme Court’s recent decision, it’s time to redouble our efforts.
Michelle Obama@MichelleObama

I wanted to share some of my thoughts on today's Supreme Court decision on affirmative action:

Important: CDC finds that vaccines prevent Covid infection. That means once you're vaccinated, you're much less likely to get sick AND to spread the virus to others. Getting vaccinated can save your life and the lives of people around you.
