During today’s @NatResources hearing, I questioned @SecretaryBurgum on the importance of securing future energy projects while protecting the integrity of existing infrastructure to meet national security demands. Cutting red tape and streamlining our permitting process for the construction of energy infrastructure, including power grid upgrades at Naval Air Station Oceana, is crucial to promoting military readiness on the East Coast. Energy security is national security..!

This National Police Week, I’m proud to stand with law enforcement and support the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act! This legislation will give our law enforcement agencies the tools they need to crack down on organized theft rings, protect businesses, and keep our communities safe…!

I was proud to join Southampton County and City of Franklin leadership for the presentation of nearly $630,000 in Community Project Funding to go towards critical public safety improvements. My office worked alongside local partners to secure this funding, which will enhance public safety, strengthen emergency preparedness, and better serve the more than 28,000 residents living across both communities. Today I joined Suffolk city leadership for the presentation of $2.25 million in Community Project Funding to go towards two critical water and sanitary sewer projects. This funding will strengthen infrastructure and protect public health and safety for our constituents in #VA02. It was a privilege to attend the annual Virginia Beach Law Enforcement Memorial ceremony honoring the brave law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. To all of our law enforcement officers, thank you for your unwavering commitment and sacrifice to keep our communities safe. As we approach National Police Week next week, we remember and honor the courage, service, and legacy of the fallen officers whose sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

In of honor today’s National Day of Prayer, I joined friends, community partners, and City of Suffolk leadership for the Suffolk Leadership Prayer Breakfast. In a world that often feels divided and fast-paced, taking time to pause, reflect, and pray together is more important than ever. It was especially meaningful to hear remarks on faith and service from Mike Hukabee, @USAmbIsrael.
