That’s right: while President Donald Trump rambles on national television about how “nobody knows what a magnet is,” his son is cashing in on them like they’re the secret to eternal life. Vulcan Elements, the barely known company boosted by Trump Jr.’s 1789 Capital in August, is suddenly getting the largest loan the Pentagon’s Office of Strategic Capital has ever issued. And — surprise! — it’s only the newest in a string of fat government contracts funneled to firms connected to Trump Jr.’s portfolio. Four of them have already raked in $735 million since the president returned to office in January. Ethics experts are sounding the alarm, warning that presidents are supposed to avoid even the appearance of funneling taxpayer money into their own family’s pockets. But this administration has blown straight past “appearance” and into full-blown “walking conflict of interest in broad daylight.” And if it weren’t so corrupt, it would almost be funny: President Trump spent November insisting on Fox News that magnets are mysterious forces nobody understands — apparently unaware that scientists cracked that code two centuries ago. Critics couldn’t help but note the uncanny similarity to Insane Clown Posse’s legendary line, “F---ing magnets, how do they work?” Turns out it’s pretty simple — when your dad runs the government, magnets work extremely well — especially for your bank account. More of my Republican colleagues are finally talking about the unaffordable health insurance crisis, but yesterday on our GOP conference call Speaker Johnson said he has ideas and pages of policy, but did not say a single policy plan. I think that is unacceptable. Democrats created this nightmare 15 years ago, then made it worse in 2021 by extending the ACA tax credits that are now expiring, and I find it unacceptable that Republicans are sitting on the sidelines doing nothing to fix this healthcare disaster that is leading many Americans into financial ruin. America gave us the House and Senate majority and entrusted us to legislatively deliver the agenda they voted for, and along with that comes the responsibility to help Americans. America First, remember? Not leave Americans wondering if or when Congress will finally fix the healthcare industry, while they look ahead not knowing if they will even be able to afford health insurance. Democrats are complaining day in and day out about the coming massive insurance hikes because of the expiring tax credits that they put in place, as the healthcare exchange rates go back to the original Obamacare system Democrats put in place. By doing so, they are admitting they screwed the whole health insurance system up and they are admitting original Obamacare is now way too expensive. Republicans it’s time to build the off ramp off of Obamacare in a responsible way, deregulate healthcare and pharmaceuticals and demand price transparency across the board, and incentivize the market in such a way to open up competition which will drive down cost. Pick up your bat and ball and get in the game. As Representatives, it’s our responsibility to lead and work for our districts. Our districts voted for us. Our districts sent us to Congress. No one else. No one or any lobby deserves our loyalty and support. Only our districts.

Dear Ma and Pa MAGA, You keep saying Donald Trump is “America First.” And I want to know why. Because in this America, the one here on planet Earth, everything’s on fire except his damn ego. Groceries are up 0.6 percent this month. Up 2.7 percent since last year. Meat, poultry, fish, and eggs are up 5.6 percent. Beef is up almost 14 percent and now at it’s highest price in American history. Ground beef is $6.63 a pound, up 13 percent. Chicken is $2.08 a pound, up 4 percent. Fresh vegetables are up 3 percent. Even restaurants raised prices almost 4 percent. Families are swapping ribeyes for ramen, doing math in the checkout line, and hoping the bank account holds out longer than the groceries do. Inflation is up. GDP is down. Unemployment is the highest it’s been in four years. Small businesses are bleeding out. Farmers are broke. Infrastructure is frozen. The government is literally shut down. But Trump’s 200 million dollar ballroom at the White House is still getting built. Apparently “America First” means chandeliers before soldiers and gold toilets before groceries. While you are deciding whether to buy chicken or gas, Mr. “America First” is out in the Middle East calling himself a “peacemaker.” And he just approved a 20 billion dollar bailout for Argentina. Not for you. Not for the farmers he conned. For his hedge fund billionaire friends, so they don’t lose money on bad bets. He just said it out loud. “Well, bailing out Argentina doesn’t help our country very much.” Umm, you think? Then why the hell did he do it? Because it helps him. Because everything he does is for himself, not this country. He is using your money to make his donors richer while Americans are clipping coupons like it’s a second job. That’s not patriotism. That’s bullshit in a red hat. Chicken is up. Bread is up. Gas, rent, insurance, all up. Your paycheck is flat. Your savings are gone. Your country is running on fumes. But sure, tell me again how this is “America First.” Because all I see is Donald Trump First. Gold ceilings before school lunches. Foreign bailouts before family dinners. His name in gold before your grocery list in red. He doesn’t care about your bills, your job, or your kids. He cares about his brand, his bank account, and the next foreign check that clears. He isn’t America First. He is Donald Trump First. Always has been. Always will be. And America? We are the ones footing the bill, so he can bail out billionaires and build a ballroom. Because it’s Donald Trump First. America Last. Every damn time.
