Exactly what plenty of folks were complaining about. Movie might be perfectly fine but just shouldn’t be called resident evil. It’s a cheap way to try to get RE fans in seats when clearly it’s not going to have much to do with RE.

@blacrob29 From his interview months ago, he said its his vision about a random dude from a random side of the town thats happening on day 1 outbreak, which is during the events of the re2. He said hes not using any canon characters. Lookin like a file from outbreak vol 3 lol.

@DeeClifftv You absolutely can expand the universe if it’s actually in the universe. You can’t say it’s happening during the events of re2 then trailer and everything you say has nothing to do with re2. That’s why now he’s coming out and saying it’s weeks before re2.

@blacrob29 I don't get that. Then how do you make a movie expanding a franchise? Its going to be a resident evil movie based off his vision. If you're basing it off the trailer, you can rewatch the re7 trailer and tell me if you think that should be called a resident evil game.

@DeeClifftv Because not only is it not a 1:1 it’s a 1:none based solely off the trailer and the things he’s said himself. We’ll see what happens during the movie but this could have easily been called horror movie 101 and achieved the same results.
