Here’s the story that led up to police entering this new mom's maternity room… just THREE days after giving birth, and a NICU doctor reporting her to DCF for medical neglect. Her baby had bloodwork done for jaundice. Later that day the NICU doctor told her they were releasing her but wanted to keep the baby for light therapy. She asked for the records so she could get her pediatrician’s opinion. The NICU doctor pushed hard, insisting that without the light therapy her son would suffer brain injury. Her pediatrician reviewed the labs (bilirubin at 13 — normally no light therapy needed at that age and level) and signed the release for the baby to be released into her care, which also took the hospital off the hook for liability. My heart was racing the whole time — no new mom should ever feel this kind of pressure. Part 2 is intense… she describes exactly what happened when the police showed up 👀

I have not seen a single mainstream media outlet give this the attention it deserves. Israel blew up an entire Lebanese town, an ancient place. It should be headline news. There’s footage of it happening. Imagine this was your town, and you saw every building blown up by a terrorist army to prevent you from ever returning. You would at the very least expect wall to wall coverage. Instead it passes without a word. It’s not the only town Israel has blown up. And sadly it probably won’t be the last.

Please READ this thread, and pay particular attention to the incredible comments from @westron__wynde - this is it people! I am fairly confident that a viable treatment protocol for MECFS does actually exist - It's just nearly impossible to implement. BUT!!! This is good news. It is a necessary stage. This does not mean it is impossible. It means those with the financial means and the 'power and pull' need to use it so that it can start to trickle down. You will feel differently about treatment and cure when you finish reading @westron__wynde comments. I hope you will feel hope - because even if it is unattainable today this does not mean it will be unattainable forever. It means we have something concrete to fight for.

Muzzling is how you make stressful training situations safe for both the handler and the dog while acclimating the dog out of that particular trigger. 3. Medicating would only make this worse.

this reflects poorly on the owner because 1. why is this dog inside the store? it’s clearly not a service animal 2. if you’re aware that your dog is incredibly reactive that it needs a MUZZLE, why would you put him in a stressful position???? 3. there is medical treatment for anxious dogs
