About SciFiShorts.co — This is aimed at my fellow writers. Not so much the ultra-successful ones, but rather those of us still trying to break in, still working the system and submitting here, there, and everywhere. I tried it because I approve of the payment model. They sell subscriptions and split the take between all the writers, with residuals lasting up to a year and possible additional income from an end-of-year anthology. I think that's brilliant, and entirely fair. I stayed because of the other writers. Great people, very supportive. There's a Discord channel for beta readers, and they give some great advice. Even the editors give good feedback — not on every piece, but a lot get sent back with revisions, and they do a lot of work with you. It's pretty easy to break in here, if you can write flash sci-fi. 1000 words or less, and it's a job to make sure they're good ones. They're not much for experimental styles and they stick to sci-fi only. But if you've got a good story and it's well-told, they appreciate it.
