.@chamath says Palantir CEO Alex Karp “deserves a medal” for being “on the right side of history” and one of the only AI leaders speaking the truth: “You can look at a graph of the financing needs of these companies and pinpoint when they oscillate between 2 messages.” “1. We’ve created a super god and the VCs are like lemmings and need to be on the right side of the super god.” “2. This is a complete weapon, let’s shut the world down and regulate everything.” “The problem is, at a trillion dollar market cap, that game has ripple effects that touch everybody in the industry.” “What Alex Karp did—he deserves a medal.” “This is an incredible human being that had the courage to come here, everybody watched that clip, all these S&P500 CEOs called me after that clip asking, ‘Help me interpret this.’” “I’ll tell you—he was on the right side of history.” “What he’s showing you is—you need to have a much more predictable way of running your business. Because if you’re bending to the vicissitudes of private company funding cycles, or their desire to need to live up to trillion-dollar valuations, you’re taking a level of risk you didn’t know you were taking.” “The LLMs do a very good job at a superficial form of privacy called ‘Zero Data Retention or ZDR.’” “They say, ‘Enable this and everything is hunky dory.’” “When you look at the fine print, if he uploads the secret formula for KFC into the model, that part is ZDR’d. But if he just clicks the like button, is there any guarantee that info is not stored? The honest answer technically, is no, because we don’t know how to do that.” “When Alex came on… at no point did Anthropic say, ‘He’s got it totally wrong, here’s the exact technical details, there’s nothing to see here.’” “I thought to myself, why wouldn’t you, the minute after that clip started to go viral, be completely specific and repudiate the claim.” “The reason, we all know, is because it’s the true version.” Via @CNBC

@DeepValue47 @JTLonsdale @JTLonsdale Hey Joe, just a reminder… Carl Hansen would make a great guest for the American Optimist show. We’d love to listen to you guys have a conversation about the future of biotech in North America and what needs to happen

.@JTLonsdale claims China has successfully “stolen” the biotech sector over the last seven years, shifting new therapeutics from U.S. majority dominance to China holding over a third (or half in early stages). He calls it “a very active kind of rape of the sector” via patent theft, returning PhDs, and rapid copying. Patents in biotech are especially vulnerable because China can launch similar programs and file overlapping patents within 24 hours. U.S. Phase 1 trials take “over 700 days” vs. ~90 days in China (or faster elsewhere). He argues the FDA is “very slow” and “very unaccountable… like a mafia” with unchecked power. He contrasts this with Europe’s “culture of proceduralism where nothing gets done” and calls for accelerating processes (including competing regulatory bodies held accountable) if the U.S. wants to compete. This is coherent with his role. By backing U.S. companies like Orca Bio and platforms like Alloy (AI + antibody discovery((few similarities to $ABCL), 8VC is positioning itself at the intersection of AI tailwinds and the need to keep value capture in the U.S. It’s a “invest in what you want to see win” approach — practical VC strategy dressed in strategic/national interest language. @EdLudlow / Bloomberg

🚀 Driving NATO’s Digital Transformation: AI and Innovation at the Operational Edge Innovation isn't just about adopting new technology; it’s about shifting culture, scaling capabilities, and modernizing how we approach decision-making at the speed of relevance. In a recent Armed Forces Network (AFN) feature, our Director, COL @arnelpdavid and Commander Hans van Pijkeren sat down to discuss the ongoing mission of Task Force Maven at NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) and reaching Full Operational Capability (FOC). During the segment, they highlighted: 🔹 Delivering AI Warfighting Capabilities: How we are executing one of the largest transformational changes in NATO history by integrating cutting-edge data and software solutions. 🔹 Fostering a Culture of Innovation: The critical role of interoperability, continuous experimentation, and human-machine collaboration to maintain a strategic advantage. 🔹 Empowering the Alliance: Building a robust digital ecosystem that connects data from the tactical edge to strategic decision-makers across the Alliance. Training is going to be provided with the help of the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) Academy. A huge thank you to AFN Benelux for highlighting the incredible work our cross-functional team is delivering every single day. The journey toward a fully data-driven Alliance is a team sport!

Imagine how difficult the Cyclosporiasis outbreak is for farmers and logistics personnel. Important to note USDA and Palantir Launch Partnership to Deliver Faster, Modernized Support for Farmers “Farm security is national security. Through this partnership, Palantir is empowering USDA with core capabilities that will enable it to secure American farmland, enhance supply chain resilience, and shield agricultural programs from fraud, abuse, and foreign adversary influence. In doing so, USDA will gain critical visibility into risks that can affect America’s agricultural production and food supply.” investors.palantir.com/news-details/2… $PLTR
Fox News@FoxNews

Health officials are tracking a growing outbreak of a parasitic stomach illness that's now been reported in 31 states. Since May, the CDC has confirmed 800 cases of cyclosporiasis, with more than 1,500 additional cases still under investigation. So far, 86 people have been hospitalized, but no deaths have been reported. The hallmark symptom of a cyclospora infection is watery, often "explosive" diarrhea that can last for weeks or even months if left untreated, the CDC says. The source remains unknown, though Michigan health officials believe the outbreak may be linked to fresh produce, including lettuce, basil, cilantro and snow peas.
