Muslim Girl Kidnapped and Raped in Uttar Pradesh A 14-year-old female Muslim student of Madrassa Mohsinat, who was kidnapped, tortured and kept hostage for three days, was repeatedly raped by Hindu men in Uttar Pradesh Kannauj’s district. According to her father, Akeel, the girl stepped out of the hostel around 8 AM to buy food items but did not return. The Madrassa authorities immediately informed the family, prompting a desperate search. Akeel told local news that on the day of the incident, the accused, Deepu, told his daughter that her mother wanted to see her. Believing him, she followed Deepu to a house. As soon as she realised it was a trap, she tried to run away, but Deepu and his associates dragged her inside the house, gagged her mouth and then held her hostage for nearly three days. The victim was forcibly made to drink alcohol, after which she fell unconscious. Deepu and his associates repeatedly raped her and, applied sindoor on her forehead and a toe ring on her feet. A sindoor and toe ring are considered sacred symbols of a newly married Hindu woman. Her family and other neighbours conducted a search and finally found their daughter tied to the rooftop of Deepu’s house. She was rushed to the district hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. An FIR has been registered against the accused. While Deepu fled the scene during the rescue, police have detained one accused for interrogation.
