These aren't surprising at all. They're about where I'd expect. - UFC 300 at 615k - strong card. deep. lacked a blockbuster main. Good number. - UFC 301 at 67k .. as expected.. terrible. - UFC 302 at 410k .. DDP Islam .. above avg for this era. expected. - UFC 303 at 274k .. expected. basically a 1 fight event. - UFC 311 at 240k .. good # considering the drama in the lead up. Islam's fans are largely in Russia and Middle East.. they are not PPV markets. - UFC 312 at 176k..I mean it's not bad considering the main event was nothing special. PPVs from overseas are a little tougher to sell historically (not same level of media coverage as domestic). TLDR - numbers are in line with expectations. - numbers are down significantly from the covid era which, again, is expected (a lot of the country was still in the left's forced lockdowns and a lot of helicopter money.. money press was hot and we paid for it with insane inflation). - I can see why ESPN wasn't trilled the returns towards the end of the agreement. However, they were spoiled by outlier numbers from the covid era that were not sustainable as other sports came back online.

@FrontRowBrian It’s the contract. Conor’s contact has explicit PPV points and bonuses related to sales, the paramount deal made the terms moot, and now Dana knows Conor is the only one with the money to hire a legal team to invalidate thousands of contacts.

there's something going on with conor that dana won't acknowledge... like he quietly been banned or he's protecting conor from conor. this is all too weird. and Jon? dana is just pissed at him for jerking him around last yr in aspinall negotiations.

@FrontRowBrian I’ve been thinking about the UFC contracts and Dana’s comments about smart people at the company figuring out the numbers. We know top billed fighters got a tiered percentage of PPV buys per their contracts. What if UFC is just paying the fighters as if the top tier was achieved? Fighters would have no grounds to dispute the contract because UFC would be theoretically overpaying.

@frontrowbrian These fighters really need a lawyer managing them so they don’t put out these absurd incriminating statements. For all we know, some guy at a bar could have joked about throwing the fight for a $20 draft kings parlay, now UFC will cut ties and FBI is knocking.

@frontrowbrian You know what’s a bad case? A full post Miranda confession. This case has terrible optics, but he’s a 20 something year old with no history in a very liberal state, so not a bad case. If it was some places in Florida, it’d be decades.
