@David108225717 I didn’t, but feel for those who did. Feels for pretty much everyone caught up in this mess. Heads need to roll, and quickly. The club has been tarnished and it’s the players and fans who suffer the most.

@garrettkidney Think it’s going to take a monumental rebuild. I can see 5-6 big names leaving at minimum. The only positive is we may get good money for some of them. But you’re looking at a new coaching team, new manager and maybe director of football. Last year of parachute payments too.

@Defract It’s going to be such a disaster to work through - getting that squad back on board (not counting I assume many have promotion bonuses they’ll now be denied) with a points deduction next year is going to be a monumental task.

The dumbest thing about the Southampton deal is I just can’t fathom how much of an advantage is truly to be gained from spying on training. You have so much footage and data points, and football is such a fluid sport - it’s surely not worth the risk at all to do it.

If Saints are not reinstated, I'm fairly confident there will have to be big changes at the club over next few weeks. Dragan Solak must be fuming, however harsh the club believes the independent commission's ruling is. How many legal cans of worms does this all open?

From what I know, appeal hearing is set for tomorrow eve, lots of submissions to be done in the meantime, so decision could come tomorrow or Thursday. Severity of sanction to be challenged but also the legal process followed, ie not getting full 14 days as standard.

Whatever happens next, Saints need to rediscover their identity as a football club. Cheating simply always unacceptable.
They will fight severity of sanction in tomorrow's appeal. But regardless, this has undone so much good work. Brainless.

If we've cheated on more than one occasion the only course of action needs to be that anyone involved or complicit is removed ASAP.

Saints admitted breaches concerning fixtures against Oxford in December and Ipswich Town in April. EFL statement says they will work to try to resolve any appeal on Wednesday this week. Saints have appealed against severity of sanction and will fight in strongest way.
