How about both. When even high-potential kids come out broken or disengaged, it just lazy thinking to blame it all on genetics. Although i tend to agree the latter is the primary reason for all our failures.

Nafri women will make you believe that North African men are the worst when it comes to race mixing discourse, meanwhile white men are even more brutal. They should repent before we also reach this level of psychosis

@BirthGauge Exactly this. A TFR built on more women having one child rather than more women having three is fragile. Watch the 2nd birth conversion rate over the next 2–3 years thats the real indicator of whether this is a genuine reversal or just delayed family formation finally catching up

The 14.8% increase of births in South Korea in Q1 2026 is making the headlines for good reason, but I am still cautious. The share of births being first children climbed yet again to 63.2% (61.8% in Q1 2025) while the share of third and further births dropped from 6.5 to 5.9%. The current recovery is thus driven by a higher rate of family formation, while the size of families is still shrinking. For the recovery to continue, we need to see more higher order births as well, otherwise this will be a short-lived thing.
