@HMBohemond Bruh. Orkish strength is not considered here? If an Ork Warlord can chokehold Big E, another ork can pierce midsection of the sororitas armor with multiple hits.

Finally getting around to watching Adepta Sororitas: Penitence. The scene with the Sister getting stabbed in the ribs with basic dagger through solid ceremite was bad enough. Now another get shot through the back by an Ork Shoota, also straight through solid ceremite. Do the writers of this tripe think Sister's power armor at the midsection is leather and cloth, and not segmented armor plating?

@shas_kais @Reclusiarch101 Beyond the spikey bits... Dude, are you really going into this territory? Chaos is actively malign, ontologically evil and Abaddon (the same goes for ADB also) can think whatever he wants about controlling Chaos. In the end his soul is forefeit. Great Game > Imperium.

Abaddon: I will save the Imperium from itself and put Space Marines on top where they belong! Roboute: I will save the Imperium from itself and put the Space Marines on top where they belong! Beyond the spikey bits, the lines between them are blurry when it comes to the end goal. As I said, both Roboute and Abaddon are acting counter to the Emperor's vision of humans ruling themselves rather than being dominated by Space Marines/transhumans. Both are tyrants; you simply have a preference for the blue one.

I reviewed the lore about Roboute's 500 world project. I won't lie, it's looking pretty grim. Roboute is replacing the semi-independent systems of Imperial worlds (feudalism) with straight-up fascism, Astartes fascism! The lore treats this as a good thing. The only way that mankind can survive what's to come. What is GW smoking?! He is doing it forcefully. Sure, he asks nicely first, but if he is refused, his Ultramarines and their legions of Auxilia will force the worlds to kneel before Macragge. The disobedient rulers who cling to the old ways and/or are more loyal to Terra are replaced with Space Marines or mortal rulers who know their place. And all of them answer to the Tetrarchs, who in turn answer to Roboute, not the Emperor and certainly not the High Lords of Terra. The resources and manpower of the Imperial worlds drawn into the sphere of Ultramar flow toward Macragge rather than Terra. The wealthy industrial world of Garranox is on the brink of breaking itself as it attempts to pay the tithe to Terra and fulfill its obligation to Ultramar, so it's unrealistic for Imperial worlds to support both sides. Roboute plans to enforce his social and political reforms across hundreds of worlds. In the name of progress and enlightenment, Roboute is employing tyrannical means. It's a precursor for his new vision for the Imperium. The irony here is that what Roboute is doing in the south echoes what Abaddon is doing in the north. Following the theme of Roboute and Abaddon being mirror images of each other, Abaddon's Dark Imperium is a mirror of Roboute's expanding Ultramar. Both claim that they are honouring the ideals of the Great Crusade. Both want to save the Imperium from itself and reshape it in the image of Space Marine supremacy (in opposition to the explicit wishes of the Emperor). So, how is Avenging Son any better than the Warmaster? Imperial traditionalists and conservatives are raising alarms against this overstep by the Primarch. The nobility across many worlds within and nearby Ultramar are staging resistance. Inquisitors are monitoring the situation. And surely the High Lords are sweating bullets. Now, why is it funny? Imperial fans for years rejected the notion that the Imperium is fascist, but here is Roboute with his plans to blanket the entirety of the Imperium under fascistic rule. Truly, in many ways, Roboute is Wokehammer's greatest ally.

@shas_kais @Chirurgic But there is? AI prompts Vesa to produce carvings, asks about how Vesa feels, even denotes concern and understanding. Vesa carves, AI scans and promptly forgets about conversation, while also guiding Vesa away from initiating it again.

Yep, the T'au can be exploitative, BUT according to the same passage, the People were well treated. Well-fed, longer lifespans, freed from cruel oppression. There is no indication of neglect. The T'au as a colonial power is more interested in what would help their empire expand and prosper. However, as a people, the T'au are very interested in the cultures of other races. We have examples of the T'au sampling the alien cultures and being changed by them. Contact with the Gue'vesa has been noted to have influenced the T'au language and expression, for example. There have been riots in the T'au Empire before. Some were linked to Chaos corruption, GSC uprisings, or grievances with T'au rule. The excerpt doesn't give reason. So all you can do is speculate.

Finally done with the Dead Rider novel by Rhuairidh James. It has some interesting Tau lore: -At the start of the war, the T'au dropped leaflets on zones they were going to bomb. They kept the fighting to closely ordained areas and proclaimed their intentions to fight their war against the Imperials as cleanly, with as few civilian casualties as possible. Once again showing that the T'au are the most moral faction in 40K (aka the good guys)! -The T'au commander in the novel makes a distinction between the Imperial humans and Gue'vesa humans during a negotiation with the protagonists. He said that humans were a race of liars. He prefers fighting Orks or even animals to humans because, unlike humans, beasts don't pretend to be something they are not. When it was pointed out to him that his forces included humans, he said that his humans are "T'au". Unlike the Imperial slave armies, they can think for themselves. They were willing to die for the ideals of the Greater Good; they were braver than anyone in this room. He respects them dearly. He was negotiating with the Imperials for Gue'vesa's sake. -The T'au are on the move in the Eastern Fringes. They are currently invading an Imperial sector. It seems that the Chalnath Expanse isn't the only region that the T'au are expanding in. Could it be that the Sixth Sphere has begun? Most likely, it's an expeditionary force probing Imperial border worlds, but one can hope. -The novel features a story about the T'au assimilating a Tzeentch worshipping alien race that called itself "The People". The race evolved on a harsh world with few resources. Their cultural development was extremely slow. The fate ordained to them by their "God of Fate" was a suicide by Imperial invasion; their race was meant to die in glorious combat fighting the Imperials. They managed through heroic effort to elevate themselves to a spacefaring race, albeit with a small realm of seven systems encompassing four habitable worlds. When the fated Imperial invasion came, A T'au fleet ambushed them and sent them retreating. The long-ordained fate of the "People" was averted, causing cultural upheaval. The T'au peacefully incorporated the race into their empire. There are sinister elements in the process, such as the T'au being more interested in the People's industrial base, which was very suited for mass production of Railgun ammo. However, it's noted that the living conditions of the race have increased markedly under the T'au.

@shas_kais Eh, don't have blue checkmark for longer posts. But this was a temporary ceasefire, and T'au commander cannot even spend drones to evacuate someone, just placate them. Also the combat was against Gue'vesa specifically, Valian notices that.

You neglected that the message was broadcast in T'au, Kroot, AND human languages. It was directed to all the wounded on the battlefield regardless of race. Come on. You seriously think that the T'au would help the wounded and risk getting blown up to smithereens by the Krieg's artillery that is stationed nearby? The Krieg, who were shown to be using horrific mass fragmentation shells purposely designed not to kill outright, but to inflict mass injuries in order to put stress on the medical supplies of their opposing force. The T'au commander surrendered and retreated to save the lives of his Gue'vesa.

@shas_kais @Chirurgic The passage also shows Vesa dying in riots, after being softly neglected - T'au are not interested in carvings and poetry, they want manufactoriums to produce ammo; they are wholly uninterested in what makes The People tick, they need workforce and when workforce riots, well...

The reason behind the district riots isn't revealed. It could be anything. The passage only shows that T'au colonists replaced the workers in the alien character's factory. There is no indication that it was something widespread. You're exaggerating it. If you are implying that the T'au genocided the race or whatever, then that's out of character.

@marten_sorby @SquidVovoide There is a saying in the setting that goes like... Life is the Emperor's currency, spend it well. Soldiers retreat - orks kill everyone, retreating soldiers included. Soldiers stand their ground - someone somewhere can survive due to their sacrifice.

@SquidVovoide That's the point. The Imperium is not about the preservation of human life, it is about the perpetuation of the system itself. It is a galaxy-spanning machine that feeds on human suffering. The Imperial ideology exists to ensure that it never goes hungry.

Thinking about the "Return to Armageddon" video, and besides the fact that the Steel Legion has been left to the wayside, another thing left a sour taste in my mouth. Might be the T'au within me, but to kill a man like the Governor, who seems to value guardsmen's lives, is foul
