I hate to be cutthroat about it, but I said on Opening Day 2025, that if the Astros were convinced Cam Smith would be really good, they should have held his call-up hostage and used a team-friendly extension as the best agreement for both parties at that point.
Cam has them over the barrel now.

@DemarDetrojan @AidanResnick Correa, Bergman, and Tucker were top 5 picks, and LMJ was still first round and was only able to be taken because Correa signed below slot value. We didn't have 1st or 2nd round picks for 2 years, and when we did have them they were lower because we were winning.
