@yerbamaldita We get smoke from western US fires fairly often and I know you guys get our smoke too, but I've never seen it devolve into such a political shit storm like we've seen from the northeasterners

I complain about BC a lot but this is how I feel whenever I hear some Alberta or Ontario transplant say a negative word about my province

@toadst00ls I'm criticizing the rhetoric and actions of the politicians that people in the northwest have voted for. Several members of congress and senators have been putting out statements and introducing legislation to punish Canada for having wildfires. Not to mention the president

@shyprinccess I would never begrudge Idaho for it's fires and I hope you won't begrudge us for ours (because there's about to be a lot)

@toadst00ls Yeah I've been there many many times. We've had years where the smoke was so bad it was dark at noon and ash rained from the sky. I think you're missing that the reaction I'm criticizing is all the americans making it about themselves and using this as an opportunity to hate us

@toadst00ls Well I'm just saying that here in the west we deal with wildfires and wildfire smoke every summer, and I have never in all my life seen such hysterics and hateful demagoguery like we've seen come from Americans in the last few days

@toadst00ls I've seen nothing but americans blaming Canada and going into violent fantasies about annexation. Not to mention all the american elected politicians that have been using this to foment hatred against Canada and threaten economic warfare. So hard to call it only a fringe opinion

I know it's basically unavoidable at this point that we will have a bad fire season but props to the BC wildfire IA crews for keeping a lid on it this long. The amount of red dots I've seen turn yellow in like three hours is impressive
