Houston’s decision to designate the city’s largest mosque as a voting center raises serious concerns about election integrity and the separation of religion and state. Polling locations should be neutral ground where every American can vote without feeling pressure or influence from any religious institution. Turning a massive mosque into an official voting site risks undermining public confidence in the process, especially in a city with growing cultural tensions.
Governor Greg Abbott and Texas election officials must step in immediately to prevent this. Conservative leaders have a duty to ensure that voting remains fair, transparent, and free from any appearance of favoritism or intimidation. Religious organizations have every right to exist, but they should not double as government polling places where voters of all faiths — or no faith — might feel unwelcome or monitored.
This is not about discrimination; it is about protecting the sacred principle of free and fair elections. Texans deserve voting centers that unite citizens under shared American values, not ones that could divide them along religious lines. Abbott should act swiftly to stop this madness and safeguard the integrity of every ballot cast in the state.

The bitter irony is that the only individuals in this saga who have earned termination are Police Chief Gregory and City Councilwoman Marie Bannister, whose reckless abuse of authority and personal vendettas are not merely destroying careers: they are dismantling the institutional trust, public safety infrastructure, and financial stability of an entire community.
