This was my tibia for a year. They had to take it out. I paid $250,000 to put it in, so i said i wanted to keep it. it’s been over 20 years I’ve had this thing laying around, never have found anything more useful to do with it than use it as a back scratcher.

@BobChoate54 @akahancrimesto1 Under a detention hearing system, the bond amount isn’t an issue. A person either gets out or they don’t. It has been my experience from listening to Andy that no bond is high enough if a violent defendant can still make it. So why not just go to the detention system?

Well, yes, I am glad I asked because I think there is middle ground on this issue. I can agree that there are public safety issues that merit some offenders being detained prior to trial. I think you definitely agree with that. My point is that the bond amount doesn’t change that.

@BobChoate54 @akahancrimesto1 Hi Bob. What’s your take on cash bond? People often decry bonds as being too low. So why would we not being in favor of a streamlined process that either let an offender out or it doesn’t. Why should the amount of money they are able to pay make a difference?

If you were a criminal lawyer, you would recognize that @kim_k_ogg spent hundreds of thousands of dollars investigating Hidalgo as a personal beef. The result of that vendetta came up with zero charges against Hidalgo. Facts matter.

@akahancrimesto1 My belief is that a defendant is either a danger and/or flight risk or they are not. The bond amount is irrelevant under the cash bond system.

@murraynewman Probably a mixture of both. One of the main components of SB 6 was to eliminate PR Bonds for defendants charged with most violent crimes I do believe hearings to determine whether releasing certain defendants on Bonds is a public safety risk et al is the way of the future
