I'm curious as to why people are mad at this sort of thing. The argument I see is "it's the dev's responsibility to balance the game into the intended experience and sliders takes that away", the intended experience is still there. It's the one where you don't touch the sliders.

A game having settings/cheats doesn't mean it's poorly balanced at all. there are tons and tons of games with cheat codes and stuff that are still well designed, I guarantee even among your favorite games. People are being completely retarded about this

Modifiers and cheats are fine as long as they're not available from the start and don't allow players to unlock achievements. Otherwise, it'll feel like the devs don't have an artistic vision and I won't need to take the game seriously
